Fanatics Sportsbook Debuting In Tennessee And Ohio This Monday
The highly anticipated launch of Fanatics Sportsbook is nearly here, and the online sports betting site is looking to extend its beta testing in the states of Tennessee and Ohio on Monday. Legal Sports Report has confirmed that the Fanatics Sportsbook app will be available to download for bettors in those states, but only fully available to pre-existing Fanatics customers.
From there, Fanatics is planning to expand into other big sports betting markets, with plans to be available in Maryland and Massachusetts by June 2023. Of the states where Fanatics Sportsbook is planning to initially release, three of the four have rolled out mobile sports wagering in the past six months, with Massachusetts sports betting being the most recent launch. This news comes after two months of beta testing the sports wagering app.
Fanatics, Inc., which is known for its sports memorabilia offerings, has major plans for its sportsbook, with a planned $1 billion investment in its sports betting app. By the time the 2023 pro football season kicks off, the company hopes to be available in anywhere between 12 and 15 states. The mobile sportsbook is definitely facing an uphill battle, with no shortage of competition on the current betting market.
However, the online sportsbook will look to stand out from the competition with its more personalized options, such as a unique wagering page for users. Plus, Fanatics Sportsbook will implement a rewards system for users, as they’ll be able to gather FanCash while using the platform which can be exchanged for Fanatics memorabilia. In terms of marketing, Fanatics will look to implement its major email base of customers, which totals approximately 95 million users.

Fanatics Already Available As A Retail Sportsbook
Interestingly, while Fanatics Online Sportsbook is still in the process of its full launch, Maryland sports bettors can still place bets with the platform through its retail sportsbook. On January 20th, 2023, a physical Fanatics Sportsbook opened its doors at FedEx Field (home of the Washington Commanders) in North Englewood, Maryland.
The location opened up on January 20th, 2023, becoming the very first brick-and-mortar sportsbook located at an NFL stadium. The retail sportsbook is right next to the Commanders team store, featuring 21 sports betting kiosks, 38 televisions, eight in-person betting windows, and two LED video walls.
The very first wager at the opening of the Fanatics Sportsbook was placed by Chris Bryant, the 2022 Washington Commanders Fan of the Year. Bryant placed a moneyline parlay on the Washington Wizards and Washington Capitals to both win their upcoming matchups.
The opening of the in-person sports betting spot comes thanks to a partnership between Fanatics Sportsbook and the Washington Commanders. In addition to the Commanders, Fanatics has also struck deals with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Cleveland Guardians.
