FanDuel Appoints Carli Lloyd & Tom Kim As Responsible Gaming Ambassadors

Fanduel has appointed athletes Carli Lloyd and Tom Kim as the brand’s newest Responsible Gaming Ambassadors. Together with fellow ambassador Craig Carton, the trio will work to raise awareness about responsible gambling.

FanDuel Welcomes New Responsible Gaming Ambassadors Carli Lloyd & Tom Kim

A record number of sports fans intend to place bets this NFL season. And with all the exhilaration surrounding each game, even the most well-intentioned bettor can get swept up in the action. Fortunately, U.S. sports betting apps like FanDuel Sportsbook have introduced responsible gambling safeguards to develop a safer gambling environment for bettors.

With the help of sports celebrities like Lloyd and Kim, FanDuel looks to use its Responsible Gaming Ambassadors program to educate the public on responsible gambling habits. The campaign will encourage players to set various gambling parameters on their activity, such as betting, deposit, and time limits.

Additionally, FanDuel plans to release a series of advertisements featuring Lloyd, Kim, and Carton alongside Rob Gronkowski and Kay Adams.

Celebrities Make Responsible Gambling Fun

It used to be easier said than done for bettors to set boundaries around their betting activity. Eager sports fans had to rely on self-discipline and trustworthy buddy systems to keep their gambling habits in check.

As legal sports betting continues its surge across the U.S., the risk of players developing compulsive gambling habits — or even a gambling addiction — also increases. Thus, operators are motivated to protect the industry’s longevity by finding new ways to promote responsibility.

These days, players can set actual limits and constraints on their wagering. And thanks to FanDuel’s new Responsible Gaming Ambassadors program, major sports icons are now making responsible play more appealing than ever.

More About Carli Lloyd & Tom Kim

Women’s soccer star Carli Lloyd played for various teams during her illustrious career, including Atlanta Beat, NY Gotham FC, Western New York Flash, and the UK’s Manchester City. She is a two-time Olympic gold medalist as well as a two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup champion.

Although she retired from the pitch in 2021, she still feels a responsibility to soccer fans and the entire sports community. Lloyd shared her excitement over becoming a FanDuel RG Ambassador, saying:

“As sports gambling continues to become more accessible, I think it is critical fans adopt a mindset that gambling is supposed to be a form of entertainment and that tools are available to them within the FanDuel Sportsbook app to stay in control of the way they play.

“I’m eager to help my fellow ambassadors spread the word on the Play Well lifestyle.”

South Korean professional golfer Tom Kim has made a name for himself in the U.S. and beyond, claiming two titles at the PGA Tour, Asian Tour, and Korean Tour. The PGA Tour recently launched its own campaign to encourage responsible betting. Now, Kim is echoing those sentiments.

Kim said:

“When evaluating a potential partnership with FanDuel, I knew I wanted to be able to use my platform to advocate for responsible play.

“It is clear everyone at FanDuel takes responsible gaming seriously, and I am proud to join their team as a Responsible Gaming Ambassador and raise awareness among my fans, especially those around my age, and the golf community on and off the course.”

With big-name athletes like Lloyd and Kim jumping on the RG bandwagon, betting responsibly may soon become the social norm.
