The announcement comes as another step in FanDuel’s ongoing mission to strengthen player protection and encourage responsible gambling in the US.
FanDuel MA Partners With Operation HOPE
FanDuel, which operates FanDuel Sportsbook MA, debuted its new partnership in Massachusetts on Wednesday, Jan. 24, joining forces with Operation HOPE — the nation’s leading organization dedicated to expanding access to financial education.
Together with FanDuel, Operation HOPE is expanding its HOPE Inside program in Massachusetts, providing access to virtual and in-person financial health sessions with trained Financial Wellbeing Coaches. Massachusetts residents can take advantage of a variety of financial tools and strategies from these coaches — all at no cost to them. Coaches are available to help MA residents establish long-term financial security, offering strategies for paying off debt, increasing credit scores, and building savings. These coaches also aim to counsel on responsible practices for managing expendable income and budgeting entertainment expenses, such as gambling and sports betting.
The Operation HOPE page of the FanDuel website lists three Financial Wellbeing Coaches available in Massachusetts:
- Adam Spencer
- Adam Berndt
- Amy Hoerle
Coaching sessions are available in the form of individual coaching sessions or group education workshops. Interested MA residents can schedule a one-on-one with a particular coach or register for one of the various one-hour Credit And Money Management Workshop events offered each week.
FanDuel President Christian Genetski said:
“Operation HOPE’s work has demonstrated that when individuals have a strong foundation of financial literacy, they are better equipped to manage their spending responsibly. FanDuel is committed to giving back to the communities in which we operate, and we believe that supporting proven financial literacy programs is a natural extension of our work to promote and empower responsible gaming. Partnering with Operation HOPE, a leader in the space, to help fund critical financial literacy education and providing access to financial counseling in communities across Massachusetts is the latest evolution in FanDuel’s efforts.”
Brian Betts, president & CFO of Operation HOPE, added:
“HOPE Inside is designed to equip clients with the tools and resources required to make informed decisions about their finances. Through this partnership with FanDuel, we can help empower those who want to learn how to take control of their finances, which can ultimately lead to less stress and a higher quality of life.”
Operation HOPE also offers money management programs specific to various life instances, such as:
- owning a home
- starting a business
- recovering from a disaster (hurricane, tornado, fire, pandemic, etc.)
FanDuel & Operation HOPE Debut Financial Literacy Campaign
Along with providing free access to financial coaches, FanDuel and Operation HOPE have partnered for a new marketing campaign emphasizing the importance of financial literacy and detailing the availability of HOPE Inside in Massachusetts. The commercial, which will debut across FanDuel and Operation HOPE social media accounts nationwide, begins with the message:
“In the game of life, financial responsibility is the winning strategy.”
The segment encourages viewers to implement responsible decision-making in every area of their finances by setting budgets and sticking to them.
Although this partnership currently only offers enhanced HOPE Inside access in Massachusetts, the program is available to residents of other states through multiple other partnerships. For more information on upcoming events available nationwide, visit the Operation HOPE website.
