FanDuel Group becomes The Ringer’s Exclusive Betting & DFS Partner
Contents
The Ringer is one of the most prominent and popular sports and pop culture websites on the internet. It puts out fantastic content, whether that be on their website or through their YouTube channel. It was actually surprising to see that The Ringer did not have a DFS or betting partner, but that changed with the announcement yesterday that FanDuel Group will be the exclusive betting and DFS partner of the brand.
The deal is for roughly one year and goes through February 2022, covering the entire NFL season, including the 2022 Super Bowl.
Many might be confused as to what exactly is new, as FanDuel has advertised through The Ringer before. However, this is the first actual partnership and exclusive deal that The Ringer has signed regarding sports betting and daily fantasy sports.
Deal Details
According to the release, all platforms will become official partners of FanDuel, from podcasts to newsletters and videos. One of the large parts of the deal includes very special leagues that will be run by Bill Simmons, Joe House, and more. This will be for daily fantasy and will hopefully be something that the audience can get excited about. It is always fun to go head to head against your favorite sports media figures.
In a quote provided by SBC America, the VP of Media of FanDuel, David Webb, said, “The Ringer is part of our core strategy to reach, engage and build connections with fans in the US through compelling content creators.”
FanDuel is trying to build a bridge and invite more people into their platform. They know that these prominent personalities like Bill Simmions of the Ringer are one way to do so.
FanDuel Continues To Expand Reach
FanDuel has done a fantastic job at bringing in new partners as of recently. The company has partnered with several large entertainment websites and brands, from The Ringer to the Pat McAfee Show and Charles Barkley himself. These partnerships help spread the word of FanDuel, which is essential as sports betting becomes bigger and spreads to new states.
However, maybe the biggest partnership to ever be announced in the United States sports betting market was the official betting partnership between sportsbooks and the NFL. FanDuel was one of the lucky sportsbooks to achieve a deal with the NFL and now will have access to tons of materials that the NFL provides. The most significant part of this specific partnership is the legitimacy that FanDuel receives from being associated with the National Football League, something that is hard to put a price on. FanDuel will now be trusted by many as the NFL is endorsing them as a sportsbook.
Sports betting is only going to get bigger and bigger from here on out in the United States. Florida, New York, Maryland, Arizona, Ohio, Louisiana, and more are all looking like potential candidates to launch online sportsbooks during the next year. That is a massive amount of the population that will be entering the sports betting market. FanDuel will want to be at the forefront of this next wave.
