FanDuel MLB Daily Fantasy Picks 5/27/19

Slate News, Injuries, Vegas Totals, & Weather
Minnesota is the only game with weather in the area tonight, but rain is projected to roll out by first pitch. This is a game with a ton of offense, and two subpar arms. Cincinnati will face off against a rookie right-hander at home, while a shootout is projected in Seattle. The Mets-Dodgers game is one of the lowest scoring games projected, and you can guess why. Clayton Kershaw and Jacob deGrom are two elite aces going tonight.
Pitchers
Clayton Kershaw ($10,000) – It is a bit easier to plug in Clayton Kershaw and move on for FanDuel, and we don’t have to worry about using a second SP. Kershaw is a strong home favorite, even against Jacob deGrom. The Mets have the lowest total on the board tonight, sitting at 3.1. Kershaw has a 25% strikeout rate this season, and 56% groundball rate. He is holding right-handers to a .286 wOBA and .271 wOBA to lefties. However, right-handers do have a .210 ISO. Kershaw has been super efficient working ahead 60% of the time, but also starting hitters out with a first pitch strike 71% of the time.
Cash Hitters
C.J. Cron ($4,100) – With the lefty, Gio Gonzalez on the hill, C.J. Cron is one of my favorite plays tonight. He has an average exit velocity of 93mph over the last two weeks. He has a .515 ISO and .547 wOBA off southpaws in 2019, and has been a big part of the Twins success on the offensive side. Gonzalez is an average lefty, allowing a .343 wOBA and .176 ISO to right-handed hitters this season. The only knock on this game is the tough weather conditions, but I like firing away for both sides of the offense.
Jesse Winker ($2,500) – Jesse Winker has a .376 wOBA and .185 ISO off right-handers dating back to last season, and has been one of the better cash game plays. His hard-contact rate is over 40% and his contact rate is 85%. Cincinnati has a five implied total. Winker has shown more production at home. He has a .371 wOBA and .288 ISO at Great American, compared to .279 wOBA and .170 ISO on the road. We get a pretty strong bargain for Winker on FanDuel tonight.
Eugenio Suarez ($3,700) – Eugenio Suarez has a .362 wOBA and .264 ISO off right-handers this season. His hard-contact rate is 46%. Suarez has been one of the more productive fantasy third baseman this season, and dating back the last few years. Over the last month, Suarez has a .278 ISO. His hard-contact over the last two weeks is at 50%. Love the price tag on Suarez, and a matchup against a rookie right-hander.
Tournament Hitters
Ryan Braun ($3,000) – Ryan Braun is just $3,000 tonight, and has a .377 wOBA and .183 ISO against right-handed pitching this season. His hard-contact sits at 46%, and he has a .389 xwOBA. Braun matches up well with Pineda, who is allowing a .388 wOBA and .277 ISO to right-handed hitters this season. Hard-contact and flyball rates are near 50%, and that is a big concern for Pineda. He throws mostly sliders and fastballs to right-handed hitters. Braun has a .413 wOBA and .266 ISO off this fastball range. Against sliders he has a .340 wOBA and .210 ISO.
Max Muncy ($3,400) – Max Muncy is a GPP play to consider. He has a .370 wOBA and .198 ISO against right-handed pitching this season. Muncy struggled at the beginning of the year, but has a .365 wOBA and .228 ISO over the last month. Jacob deGrom has allowed a .327 wOBA and .169 ISO to lefties this season. Hard-contact rate is also to 42% and his flyball rate is 36% with a 24% line drive rate. deGrom will throw that 96mph fastball to lefties 53% of the time, and Mincy has a .548 wOBA and .538 ISO off this range.
