FanDuel MLB Daily Fantasy Picks 6/6/19
Contents
Below you will find a combination of six tournament and cash game hitters. One pitcher will be selected as well to help you build lineups for each MLB slate. Be sure to keep an eye out for weather, and also players being confirmed in the lineup. Use the toolbox to keep track.
Pitchers
Patrick Corbin ($10,900) – On a five game slate we actually have a handful of pitching options. Trevor Bauer, Joey Lucchesi, and Jose Berrios are also in play. Patrick Corbin has been a bit rockier of late, as that has been the theme in Washington this season. The Padres lineup scares me a bit against left-handed pitching, given they have a .352 wOBA and .217 ISO in their projected lineup against left-handed pitching. However, they have a 22% strikeout rate. They also struggle against sliders, as only one bat has over a 70% contact rate against sliders. Corbin has one of the nastiest sliders in the game, sitting with a 52% whiff rate since last season. Hitters have just a .193 wOBA and .100 ISO off of it. Corbin has some of the higher upside if his slider is on, but there is some risk. You can add some risk to most arms going tonight in the matchup, so not much changes.
Cash Hitters
Nomar Mazara ($3,800) – David Hess on the hill in Texas gives us plenty of chances to pile up on some Rangers bats. Nomar Mazara is one of them. He has been better of late, but since 2018 he has a .167 ISO and .340 wOBA off right-handers dating back to last season. In that span, he has allowed a .350 wOBA and .230 ISO to left-handed hitters. Mazara has a 49% hard-contact rate against right-handed pitching this season, and a sub 20% strikeout rate. 2019 hasn’t been much different for Hess, who has allowed a .342 wOBA, .163 ISO, and 40% hard-contact rate to lefties.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. ($3,000) – There have been only 32 at-bats for Vladito against left-handed pitching, but he has a .233 ISO and 80% contact rate. He is in a good spot tonight, where J.A. Happ has struggled in 2019. However, since last season he has allowed a .325 wOBA and .210 ISO to right-handers. In 2019 alone, he has allowed a .350 wOBA and .269 ISO to righties. For $3,000, Guerrero Jr is a strong value at the hot corner. I will be using him almost at a 100% clip tonight.
Luke Voit ($4,300) – Edwin Jackson has allowed a .357 wOBA and .244 ISO to right-handers since last season, and a 40% hard-contact rate to go with it. Luke Voit has a .399 wOBA and .259 ISO against right-handers since last season, and has big home run potential tonight. The Yankees have one of the highest implied totals on the board tonight, and are mostly all in play. Kendrys Morales is a cheaper option, but hasn’t had the production. With how bad Jackson has pitched this season, the Yankees should put up a crooked number.
Tournament Hitters
Chad Pinder ($2,300) – There is a chance Chad Pinder gets pinch hit for late, but at $2,300 he is worth a look in tournaments. He has a .374 wOBA and .200 ISO off left-handed pitching dating back to last season. His hard-contact sits at 54% in that span. In 2019 alone, Pinder has over a 50% hard-contact rate, .378 wOBA, .250 ISO, and 13% strikeout rate. Tyler Skaggs has allowed a .334 wOBA to right-handers since 2018, and can be considered a league average arm. Pinder opens the lineup up for some bigger bats, given he is near bare minimum.
Rougned Odor ($2,800) – There are better days on the horizon for Rougned Odor, who has a .159 BABIP against right-handed pitching this season. Odor has a .310 wOBA and .190 ISO off right-handers dating back to last season. His hard-contact is up over 40% against right-handers in that span. He is a sub $3,000 power bat to consider, and because of his price tag I would play him in cash games too. Both sides of the plate are in play for Texas, so feel free to fire away with the Rangers bats.
Tommy La Stella ($3,200) – I can’t explain the rise of Tommy La Stella, but can only speak to his name. He has a .406 wOBA and .252 ISO off right-handers this season. His hard-contact is at 41% and his contact rate is at 91%. La Stella has been a good contact bat, but the production hasn’t been like this. He faces Mike Fiers tonight, who has allowed a .187 ISO to left-handed hitters since last season. The hard-contact and flyball rates have always been high for Fiers, making the Angels bats enticing tonight.
