Just a four game slate for Thursday. Denver is the only blowout potential game, as Steph Curry being back as the Raptors as now just eight point favorites. Houston and Los Angeles is going to be the game to watch, with a one point spread and both teams sitting around a 118 implied total. Toronto and Sacramento are the other names with an implied total over 110. Charlotte is at just 98, which is by far the lowest of the night. Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid remain out, and Josh Richardson joins them tonight. Fred VanVleet, Serge Ibaka, Devonte Graham, and Draymond Green are the more notable names that are going to be questionable.
Cash Game Picks
Robert Covington – PF – $6,500
Robert Covington has played extremely well, averaging 35 fantasy points per game over the last ten games. Houston has a 117 total, and this game overall is going to be a competitive and high scoring one for fantasy. At $6,500, Covington has been a bargain most nights, regularly hitting 5.5x value. Russell Westbrook and James Harden are always obvious plays given the name value, but don’t forget about Covington.
Tobias Harris – SF – $7,100
Tobias Harris has averaged 39 fantasy points per game over the last five games, and is going to be a big part of the 76ers offense as long as Simmons and Embiid are out. Richardson is out tonight as well. With those names out, Harris has seen a 26% usage rate and 1.18 FPPM. With already a few 76ers in the article, I will just give Al Horford an honorable mention as well. He has averaged 1.28 FPPM with those names off the court, and isn’t too badly priced either. The Kings are a defense to target as a whole.
Kawhi Leonard – PF – $9,200
The price tag has come down a little bit for Kawhi Leonard, as the upside has not been as consistent of late. Still averaging 46 fantasy points a game, Leonard is a safe play in a good spot against the Rockets. Leonard is averaging 1.48 FPPM, and in a game where he should have a tick up in minutes, we should get that upside tonight too. With a slate with plenty of value, I like tossing in Leonard alongside a few of the higher high priced names.
GPP Tournament Picks
De’Aaron Fox – PG – $7,600
De’Aaron Fox is generally always in a range I like paying for a point guard with upside. He has a 29% usage rate, and is shooting 47% in his last ten healthy games. Now Fox has a decent floor too, but if he can find that 40+ FD point range at this price, that is what I want in tournaments. Especially on a slate with just a few names. Philadelphia isn’t the same defensive team right now with the injuries either.
Nikola Jokic – C – $9,900
You never know what you are going to get from this Denver team, and while they are ten point favorites against Charlotte, they just lost to the Warriors the other night. Center is abysmal on FanDuel, so I don’t even mind using Jokic in cash games, but paying off the price tag might be an issue if Denver does blow them out. Otherwise, this is a tremendous spot against a bottom five defense against opposing centers.
Norman Powell – SG – $5,500
We may not get the Fred VanVleet news in time, so I am going to list Norman Powell as a GPP option. He is averaging over 30 fantasy points per game over the last five games, and has seen 33 minutes per game. Golden State ranks 21st against opposing shooting guards, and the Raptors have a 117 implied total. Powell is going to get run regardless in this matchup.
Harry Giles – PF – $5,000
Harry Giles is averaging 28.8 fantasy points per game over the last five, and 25.2 over the last ten games. He is shooting 57% from the field in that span, and has had a 20 fantasy point floor and 30 fantasy point ceiling in a ten game span. Giles also has a 70% consistency rating. At $5,000 he offers up some value at the power forward position.
Shake Milton – PG – $5,400
Shake Milton’s price continues to sit in this range, and that is an easy slot for a value play. Especially going up against Sacramento too. Overall Milton is averaging 34 fantasy points per game over the last five. He has also seen a decent usage in that span as well. Milton has averaged 1.05 FPPM and a 25.4% usage rate with Richardson, Embiid, and Simmons off the court.
Glenn Robinson – SF – $3,800
Josh Richardson is out tonight, and Philadelphia is already thin as it is. Now there are a few names that could chip in here, and that does clutter the minutes given Alec Burks and Furkan Korkmaz. I am more willing to ride the hot hand, but sprinkle in some Korkmaz and Burks in GPPs. All are cheap enough where they just need to hit at least 20 fantasy points to hit value.
