Lineup Building Analysis
Much like over on DraftKings, FanDuel is not far behind in lenient pricing. Most quarterbacks are under $8,000, and those are the guys we will be talking about. Jared Goff and Carson Wentz are underpriced for their matchup and floor. Both are cash game playable, and are in play for tournaments as well. Jameis Winston is tougher to trust, but his upside is there for a $7,500 price tag. I don’t mind Lamar Jackson this week as well, Miami struggled against rushing quarterbacks last season, which Jackson should put together 5-6 points off rushing yards alone. Because of the mid-range quarterbacks and running backs available, similar cash game lineups will heavy around the industry. Dalvin Cook and Kerryon Johnson are both nicely priced for this week, and are names to build around in cash games. If you are in need for a slight pivot, Chris Carson shouldn’t come in with the same type of ownership.
If Ezekiel Elliot fails to get a deal done this week, that means $5,200 Tony Pollard is going to be super popular. This will open up a ton of value if this is the case, which is already highly likely given the distance of the deal with Elliot and Week 1 looming. We will also need to watch the injury news on Odell Beckham Jr. and Julio Jones. This just comes down to some nagging injuries it seems though. There is a big bunch up wideouts in the upper $6,000 ‘s and mid $7,000’s. This is going to be the range to sit in this week, and in tournaments leaving money on the table is a good way to go. Tyler Lockett, Chris Godwin, and DJ Moore should garnish some ownership in that order, and be the more popular mid-range plays.
Similar deep threats are DeSean Jackson and John Brown. Both are solid options to toss in as a WR3 or FLEX for tournaments. Curtis Samuel and Dede Westbrook are more reliable options in all formats. Tight end and defense is pretty straight forward this week. George Kittle is my favorite pay up option going up against a bottom five Buccaneers defense. Hunter Henry isn’t the bargain he is over on DraftKings, but sits in a range with Evan Engram as strong cash and tournament plays. If you want a deeper tournament play, David Njoku fits that bill.
Stacking Analysis
There are a lot of stacks to work with in Week 1, and a few game stacks that could pay off as well. Fitting in stacks that are expensive should be no issue for you this week given all the value opened up already. Tampa Bay comes across as one of the major stacks this week, and they will be a popular stack most weeks. They have a talented receiving core and a bad defense. This offense is going to be set for big games because they will have to put up big points to have a shot at winning. The Winston-Evans-Howard-Godwin combination of any regards is going to be a high upside one against a bottom ten pass defense from last season.
Some more middling ownership stacks will belong in Carolina and with Philadelphia. I can’t imagine crazy ownership given the prices around them. The Panthers have two value wideouts to target, as Moore and Samuel are both under $6,500. Christian McCaffrey is also in play given his heavy role in the offense. The Eagles should have most of their guys overlooked a bit on FanDuel. Zach Ertz has been someone the industry is down on given there are a ton of targets that will be spread out. That might cause people to avoid the situation entirely.
Minnesota is a fairly cheap stack as all their guys are in the $7,500 range. The Falcons defense should be better this season given they were decimated by injuries last season, but this is still a very capable Vikings offense that can do some damage at home. Julio Jones would be a nice piece to include especially given the tough matchup will keep some away.
