As our #1 Rated Online Sportsbook serving Pennsylvania sports bettors, FanDuel sportsbook as made it its mission to provide potential customers with the right incentive to join. It worked with New Jersey with FanDuel using the same promotion to take over the #1 position resoundingly for months. FanDuel has been leading the way in New Jersey for the past five months as the state’s number one sports betting operator in terms of handle. FanDuel has outpaced its second-closest competitor in New Jersey, Draftkings, by nearly $17 million from February to June. Pennsylvania sports bettors, it’s time welcome you to FanDuel and its $500 “risk free” betting promotion.
Here’s How it Works
Only new customers are eligible to receive this offer. After opening a sports betting account, the bettor is required to make a deposit of at least $10. From their initial deposit, they must make their first “eligible” sports bet. If the bettor wins that initial bet, they do not qualify for the promotion. If they lose, FanDuel will deposit a 100% matching amount up to $500 in the bettor’s bonus account. From that account, the bettor will be required to place another eligible sports bet. If that bets wins, they will need to wager the winning amount 1x to satisfy the “play through” requirement. After fulfilling the requirement, the remaining funds minus the original bonus allocation will become available to withdraw as real cash.
This promotion is only applicable to bettors 21 years of age or older who are physically located in Pennsylvania at the time of the wagers. The promotion does not have an expiration date at this time.
More FanDuel Promotions
Beyond its welcome offer for new customers, FanDuel is very supportive of its loyal customer base. Currently, the sportsbook is offering a half dozen other promotions with an emphasis on insurance betting promos. For each major sport, you’ll find Parlay Insurance offers for the regular season and Playoffs. As MLB heads into the playoffs, look out for similar offers to below.

NBA Playoffs Insurance Offer – Refund of up to $50 if money-line or under bet loses in OT

Legalization of Sports Betting in NJ, PA & NY
After leading the fight to get the US Supreme Court to finally lift the federal ban against sports betting in the US (aside from Nevada, Oregon, Montana, and Delaware who were grandfathered in), New Jersey has become a true sports betting leader. New Jersey has also been the most successful state in the country (aside from Nevada) in terms of revenue since the PASPA decision in May 2018. The Garden State has amassed over $200 million in sports betting revenue since June 2018 when sports betting was launched.
Hoping to match the success of neighboring New Jersey, Pennsylvania has started seeing an increase in the number of sportsbooks across the state. There are currently four online sportsbooks in the state with FanDuel being the most recent to launch. The Keystone State is still in its early stages of online sports betting, but once it reaches full maturity, the state is expected to rival the likes of Nevada and New Jersey. FanDuel launched its online sportsbook in Pennsylvania in July.
New York recently launched legal sports betting, however, only via brick-and-mortar methods. The states four commercial casinos will all offer legal sports betting as well as some of the states tribal casinos. Mobile sports betting missed the boat for the second-consecutive legislative session. Some key lawmakers in the state are hoping the issue can gain traction in 2020 and finally make a push to bring legal mobile sports betting to the Empire State. Until then, New Jersey will continue to feed off of New York City area residents who can travel minutes to New Jersey to bet on their phones as opposed to traveling hours to Upstate New York to bet.
