Maine Governor Janet Mills vetoed a sports betting bill last week. Now, Maine residents have to travel to New Hampshire in order to place legal wagers. However, it may be more difficult for Maine residents than expected. DraftKings is the state’s only online/mobile betting option and some areas in New Hampshire near the Maine border are located in a “prohibited area” that won’t allow them to place bets. One New Hampshire bar owner was even told by DraftKings that her bar was located in a “prohibited area”, forcing customers to leave her bar in order to place bets.

Cincinnati (+4.5) vs #22 Memphis – 7:00 PM
The Cincinnati Bearcats (10-6) take on the Memphis Tigers (13-3) in an AAC showdown tonight. The Bearcats enter this game coming off of back-to-back blowout wins against Tulsa (75-44) and UCF (68-54). Memphis ended their two-game losing streak with a win over South Florida (68-64) in their last contest.
Cincinnati hasn’t been the best scoring team in the league this year, ranking just 136th in points scored per game. They are 111th in FG% but have struggled from both the free-throw line (267th) and from three (280th). The Bearcat defense has been their strength so far this season. They rank in the Top 100 in points allowed per game (98th), FG% allowed (61st) and 3PT% allowed (96th).
Memphis has an offense that ranks in the Top 50 in both points per game (45th) and FG% (49th). The Tigers have been average from behind the arc (162nd) but terrible from the line (256th). Like Cincinnati, Memphis has a strong defense. The Tigers are 57th in points allowed per game, thanks mostly to their stout defense that is third in FG% allowed. They are also 54th in opponent 3PT%.
On paper, the numbers favor Memphis. However, considering the strength of schedule for Memphis (253rd) compared to Cincinnati (71st), the Memphis numbers aren’t as impressive. These two teams are a lot more similar than their early records and numbers would suggest. In a matchup like this, it is best to take the points. The formula agrees as it has Memphis winning this game by less than two points with a final score projection of 70.7-72.3.
