Governor of Maine, Janet Mills, has until Friday to act on a sports betting bill that has been sitting on her desk for the past six months. LD 553 is a bill that will legalize sports betting in Maine. It was approved by legislature back on June 19th and has since been waiting on action from Mills. Mills now has the option to either approve the bill and sign it, veto it or take no action. If she chooses to take no action, the bill will still become law without her signature.

Memphis vs Wichita State (-6) – 7:00 PM

The Memphis Tigers (12-2) snapped their 10-game winning streak with a loss to Georgia 65-62 in their last contest. Wichita State (13-1) is now on a seven-game winning streak after taking down Ole Miss 74-54 on Saturday.

The Tigers lost their top player in James Wiseman earlier this season when he decided to leave Memphis. The Tigers have done well without Wiseman, as that loss to Georgia was their only loss without him. However, their competition wasn’t very tough during their recent winning streak. The Tigers only beat Ole Miss by 1, NC State by 5, Little Rock by 10, UAB by 9 and Tennessee by 4. Their matchup tonight versus Wichita State will be their toughest since their loss to Oregon in their third game of the season.

Wichita State has taken down some solid opponents since their loss to West Virginia. The Shockers took down Oklahoma State by 19, Oklahoma by 5 and VCU by 10. On the year, the Shockers are 70th in the country in points scored per game (76.9) and 42nd in points allowed per game (62). They are also in the Top 30 in the country in opponent FG%.

Memphis lost by eight to Oregon even with Wiseman on their team. They have yet to play a team close to that caliber this season and Wichita State will be the closest. Without one of the best players in the country against a team as all-around good as Wichita State, the Tigers will struggle. Memphis has had some close wins against some not-so-good teams this season. The Shockers are a good team and should be able to get a big win against Memphis tonight. The spread has already climbed two points so get on Wichita State now at -6 before it climbs even higher. The formula has Wichita State winning this one 74-65.
