The Washington Redskins are seeking sports betting license in Virginia even as they lobby for one in Maryland. There are two bills that are up for a full chamber vote today in Richmond. Both of which would guarantee the Redskins a sports betting license if they wanted one. According to Del. Mark D. Sickles (D-Fairfax), the sponsor of one of the bills, Redskins owner Dan Snyder mentioned potential stadium sites in Virginia. In Maryland, there is currently no submitted legislation that would let the Redskins qualify for a sports betting license.

#1 Baylor (-5.5) vs Texas – 9:00 PM
The number one team in the nation, the Baylor Bears (21-1), head to Austin to take on the Texas Longhorns (14-9). Baylor has now won their last 20 games after taking down Oklahoma State 78-70 on Saturday. Texas is coming off of their second consecutive loss after falling to Texas Tech 62-57 on Saturday.
The reason Baylor is the number one team in the country isn’t because of their offense but their defense. The Bears are scoring a modest 72.5 points per game, good for 139th in the country. They shoot the ball well from deep (86th) but have struggled elsewhere (220th in FG% and 208th from the line). Baylor has allowed the fifth-fewest points per game in the country. They hold opponents to the 22nd-lowest FG% and 81st-lowest 3PT% in the country.
This Texas team is similar to Baylor in that they are a better defensive team than offensive. However, Texas is scoring at one of the lowest rates in the country. The Longhorns are scoring just 65.5 points per game, only 47 teams in the entire country are scoring fewer points per game than that. They do not shoot well from anywhere on the court. Texas is 202nd in FG%, 175th in 3PT% and 293rd in 3PT%. The Longhorns allow the 43rd-fewest points per game in the country and they hold their opponents to fairly average shooting percentage from both the field (158th) and from deep (182nd).
The spread on this game is a little lowest than you would expect because this is an in-state conference game between two very good defenses. It will be a low-scoring game but the Baylor Bears are clearly the better team here. Texas will have trouble on the boards tonight and that will give Baylor that extra advantage that they need in order to get the cover tonight. The Under may seem like a good play here but the formula sees more value in Baylor. The formula sees Baylor taking this game 69-59.
