New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has been against mobile sports betting since it was first brought up in the state years ago. It is known that New York is losing millions of dollars a year in tax revenue to neighboring New Jersey where New York residents can legally bet online just by simply being inside New Jersey state lines. Now, thanks to a study by market research firm Eilers & Krejcik, we have a better idea of exactly how much money New York is missing out on.
According to Eilers & Krejcik, New Yorkers bet an estimated $837 million in New Jersey last year, nearly 20% of New Jersey’s entire handle. That means New York missed out on over $6 million in tax revenue last year alone.

San Francisco vs #2 Gonzaga (-18) – 11:00 PM
The San Francisco Dons (17-10) take on the Gonzaga Bulldogs (26-1) in a West Coast Conference showdown. The Dons ended their three-game losing streak on Thursday with a 70-61 win against Santa Clara. Gonzaga’s win streak is now up to 18 games after their 89-77 win against Pepperdine on Saturday.
San Francisco started its season 7-0 against weak competition and then quickly began to struggle once their schedule got more difficult. In conference play alone, the Dons are 6-6. While they are a solid 61st in points per game, they are 193rd in points allowed per game. The Dons are above average shooting teams from everywhere on the court but don’t excel much in any particular aspect. They are 130th in FG%, 158th in 3PT and 124th in FT%. Defensively, San Francisco is 291st in FG% allowed and they allow the fifth-highest 3PT% to their opponents.
Gonzaga has been an offensive juggernaut yet again this season. They lead the country in points per game (88.6) and they are second in FG% (51.6%). Not only that, but the Bulldogs are the fifth-best three-point team in the country, hitting 39.4%. The only area they struggle on offense is at the line (259th). The Gonzaga defense is 123rd in points allowed per game. They are 119th in opponent FG% allowed and 107th in opponent 3PT% allowed.
Gonzaga’s schedule is actually tougher than some people may realize, ranking 128th in S.O.S. according to KenPom. This truly is one of the best teams in the country and their numbers on offense are unmatched. San Francisco is a mediocre WCC team and is no match for Gonzaga. The spread is high but the Gonzaga offense scores at will and San Francisco’s defense is one of the worst in the country. The Bulldogs should put up a ton of points in this game and I just can’t see the Dons keeping up and not even being able to cover 18 points. The formula has Gonzaga winning 92-69. There is also value in the Over 156.
