There are currently five sports betting-related bills making their way through the Missouri legislature. There was a hearing in House yesterday and the Senate will have one today related to at least one sports betting bill.
At yesterday’s meeting, lobbyists for a number of major sports teams and leagues expressed their support for legalized sports betting. Those teams include the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues, Kansas City Chiefs and even the NBA and PGA leagues themselves. According to the Missouri Gaming Commission, legalized sports betting could bring in anywhere from four to nine million in tax revenue.

Utah vs Stanford (-7.5) – 10:00 PM
The Utah Utes (15-12) take on the Stanford Cardinal (18-9) in a battle of the seventh and eighth place Pac-12 teams. Utah snapped their three-game losing streak on Sunday when they took down USC 79-65. Stanford has now won its last two games after defeating Washington State 75-57 on Sunday.
Utah has been about as even of a team on both sides of the ball as you can be. The Utes are 186th in the country in points scored and 189th in points allowed per game. The Utes are a decent team from the line (112th) and they have an above-average FG% that ranks 129th. Their offensive weakness is from deep, ranking just 192nd in 3PT%. The Utes have allowed opponents to shoot fairly well this season. Utah ranks 226th in opponent FG% and 302nd in opponent 3PT%.
Stanford has been a little more one-sided than Utah this season. The Cardinal are just 205th in points scored per game but are allowing the 13th-fewest points per game in the country. Despite not putting up big scoring numbers, Stanford is actually a very good shooting team. They have the 21st-highest FG% and 20th-highest 3PT%. However, they have struggled at the line this season, ranking just 222nd. Stanford has held opponents to the 16th-lowest FG% and 13th-lowest 3PT%.
Stanford had a rough stretch this season where they went 1-7. Other than that, this has been a very solid Stanford team that could make it to the second weekend of March Madness. The Cardinal defense is among the best in the country and they can compete with almost any team because of it. They should be able to keep Utah in check tonight and while their offense isn’t the best, it should do plenty good enough tonight to get the cover. The formula agrees as it sees Stanford taking this one 70-59.
