Detroit Pistons (-2.5) @ New York Knicks
Though neither of these teams have been money makers this year with the Pistons 23-28-1 against the spread and the Knicks 22-27-3, it’s hard to bet a Knicks team that has won just 10 games straight up this season. And it is not as if the team has been close recently as each of the Knicks’ past six losses have been by at least nine points.
Blake Griffin is not a guy that New York is going to be able to match up with and Mitchell Robinson being listed as day-to-day on the injury report does not help matters. Griffin had 30 points the first time these two hooked up with the Pistons prevailing in that one 115-108 in Detroit.
Greg’s Pick: Pistons -2.5
Los Angeles Lakers (-3) @ Indiana Pacers
The Pacers are coming off a nice 109-107 win over the Pelicans on Monday, but with Victor Olidipo out for the season, it’s difficult to back Indiana in back-to-back spots. Though the Pacers have won two straight, they lost their first four games without him, failing to cover in any of those contests.
LeBron James is listed as playing this game and the Lakers did not have to play on Monday, which obviously makes a massive difference give the Lakers are 8-10 against the spread and 7-11 straight up since Christmas when James does not play.
Greg’s Pick: Lakers -3
Boston Celtics @ Cleveland Cavaliers (Over 214)
When these two teams hooked up on January 23rd, the Celtics got a 123-103 win in Boston and there is no reason to think this result won’t result in another over.
The over has went 15-11 in Cleveland Cavaliers home games so far this season and overs in Celtics games are 14-11 thus far this season. The Celtics have failed to score at least 111 points just once in its past 10 games while the Cavaliers are dead last with regard to defensive efficiency. They are allowing 1.138 points per possession this season, the next-worst team in the league is the 76ers at 1.107.
The Celtics will be without Kyrie Irving for this game, but the team was without him when they hung 123 points on the Cavaliers on January 23rd and has failed to score at least 112 points in just one of the eight games he has missed since the start of November.
Greg’s Pick: Over 214
