Week 7 was a somewhat positive week, although Seattle continues to be a let down for me when at home. They were a loss, and the Rams-Falcons over was as well. The Leonard Fournette player prop was tilting, given he had chances to punch one in the end zone, but he did finish with his over yardage prop. The Saints were a solid underdog bet, and the Rams spread also covered. Looking ahead at this week, there are a lot of heavy favorites and what seem to be obvious games. About halfway through the season, we are 15-17, and are just 0.34 above in units. Time to look at Week 8 on FanDuel Sportsbook.
New York Giants @ Detroit Lions
1 Unit – Over 49.5 Total (+100)
Both defenses have struggled this season, although one was to be expected. The over is 4-2 for Detroit this season, and 3-4 for New York. However, all three overs were on the road for the Giants. Defensively these teams have allowed quite a bit of production. Opposing offenses are scoring 26.6 points per game against the Giants, and 23.6 against the Lions. Sterling Shepard was ruled out, which hurts, but the Giants have most of their playmakers back anyway. The Lions have a lot of defensive players out, and just traded Diggs to the Seahawks. If Daniel Jones can get the ball out quicker, which should be a focus this week, he will have a fine game. The Giants offense produce better numbers this week, enough to push the total here with Detroit putting up points in bunches.
Oakland Raiders @ Houston Texans
1 Unit – Houston Texans -7 (+100)
A touchdown favorite seemed a bit odd, but I like Houston here at home against an Oakland team that seems to be a bit overvalued. The Raiders just do not have enough firepower to keep up with Houston’s offense, which should enjoy a good day against this defense. Oakland struggles at getting pressure on quarterbacks, and against this line that is a plus given they have struggled in pass protection. Houston -7 is one of my favorite values of the week.
Denver Broncos @ Indianapolis Colts
1 Unit – Indianapolis Colts -4.5 (-115)
The Colts are -5, -5.5, and -6 at most sportsbooks, but on FanDuel they are -4.5. Indy is riding a high against Kansas City and Houston, two supreme offenses in the NFL. The Broncos are the opposite of that, and will struggle to score points. Indy is a heavy favorite with the moneyline, and will be able to control this game with Marlon Mack.
New York Jets @ Jacksonville Jaguars
1 Unit – New York Jets +6 (+105)
The Jaguars are touchdown favorites, and while the Jets are 1-5 coming off another awful game, this is where they can cover against two teams that are not that far apart. This is going to be a low scoring and grind it out style game. I could see Bell and Fournette both getting a healthy dose of touches, and both passing games have flashed potential. The Jets defense is good enough to limit the Jaguars, and their performance last week was not encouraging until the last quarter of the game. The Jets should cover in this one.
