The Ringer Mega Contest
FanDuel‘s Mega Contest, presented by The Ringer, is one of the best weekly NFL contests on the market. Each week you make five picks against the spread, with one of the picks being a Double Down pick. The Double Down pick is worth double the points. If you win the pick, you receive a point, and winning the Double Down pick will get you two points.
The contest will go on every week during the NFL season, and if you are in the Top-100 of the leaderboard at the end of the season, you will have a chance to get to the playoffs and earn a share of $25,000, with first-place earning $1,000.
The contest is free to enter, and you must be 21 years or older and in a state with FanDuel Sportsbook to play. The contest allows you to bet on all Thursday, Sunday, and Monday games during the NFL season.
Pittsburgh -9.5 Odds Boost
This Sunday, the Pittsburgh Steelers head to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars. As of writing, the spread currently sits at Steelers -10, but FanDuel is boosting the odds for this Sunday’s matchup. The sportsbook is offering Steelers at -9.5 (+100).
If you think the Steelers can win by 10 or more points, then this offer is perfect for you. Pittsburgh remains the only undefeated team in the NFL and has a good shot of being 10-0 after Sunday. The Steelers ranks 3rd in DVOA (16th offense & 2nd defense), which puts them in a much better position than Jacksonville, who is 27th (23rd offense & 31st defense).
Pittsburgh’s offense has been average this season, but going up against the Jaguars’ 31st ranked defense, they should be able to move the ball while the Steelers defense should have no issues slowing Jake Luton at quarterback.
However, Pittsburgh has historically struggled against Jacksonville as they have a record of 12-14 against the Jags. The Steelers are also going up against the Ravens next week, which could have Pittsburgh looking ahead. Head coach Mike Tomlin has said they are not looking past the Jaguars, but history in Tomlin’s spot has not been kind.
My projections have the Steelers -17.5 point favorite this Sunday, but given the spot, bettors should tread lightly with the Steelers.
Tennessee Titans Best Bet
Tennessee heads to Baltimore this week after being dominated by the Colts last Thursday night. The Ravens are also coming off a loss to New England on Sunday night.
Both teams are looking to bounce back and get back on a winning track to compete for playoff spots. The matchup to watch will be with the Titans’ offense vs. the Ravens’ defense. Both rank in the top-10 in their respective categories, so it could come down to which one has the better game.
This also could be a good spot to see if the Titans defense can bounce back on Sunday. Everyone knows how electric Lamar Jackson is with his feet, but the Baltimore offense ranks 24th in DVOA. As bad as Tennessee’s defense looked last week, they could limit Jackson and the Ravens.
Baltimore also has Pittsburgh on deck next week, which could have them looking ahead. With both teams coming off a loss, the underdog looks more enticing. My projections have the Ravens as a 5-point favorite, so I’ll take anything +6 or above with Tennessee.
