How Will Giannis Antetokounmpo Betting Odds Unravel?

When DraftKings opened this betting market in mid-May, the Bucks were lined at -200 to retain Antetokounmpo. Per the odds board above, they’re currently -500. By converting these odds to implied probability, Milwaukee has an 83.3% chance of hanging onto Antetokounmpo.

Last week, Antetokounmpo expressed his commitment to the franchise in an interview with Brazilian media, saying, “I hope to be back soon with the Bucks.”

On The Bill Simmons Show, Bucks coach Doc Rivers stated that the rumors surrounding Antetokounmpo are “ridiculous,” emphasizing his stance that Milwaukee will find a way to retain the two-time regular-season MVP for the remainder of his career.

However, the betting market hasn’t ruled out the possibility of Milwaukee trading its franchise player. The most likely destination is Madison Square Garden, as the New York Knicks (+600) are directly behind Milwaukee among next-team odds.

Using the implied probability calculation noted above, the Knicks have a 14.3% chance of acquiring Antetokounmpo.

Antetokounmpo’s Impact On Other NBA Betting Markets

After falling two wins short of the organization’s first Finals appearance since 1999, New York would certainly have interest in pairing Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby, and Mikal Bridges with the nine-time NBA All-Star. One trade scenario that could send Antetokounmpo to the Knicks is if they’re willing to part ways with Karl-Anthony Towns, Tyler Kolek, the Wizards’ 2026 protected first-round draft pick, along with a potential pick swap.

At the moment, New York has the second-best odds (+900) of winning the 2026 NBA title, lined only behind the Oklahoma City Thunder. If the Knicks somehow manage to reel in Antetokounmpo, those odds would shorten considerably.

The Raptors, set below the Knicks among these next-team odds, are +10000 longshots of claiming next season’s Larry O’Brien trophy. But the Spurs, pegged with the fourth-best odds of snagging Antetokounmpo, are quietly moving up the championship betting board, as low as +1400.
