Green Bay Packers Vs. San Francisco 49ers Player Props (9/26/21)

I’m pumped for Sunday Night Football this week as the Packers and 49ers face off in a battle between two NFC contenders who have strong Super Bowl hopes this season. Aaron Rodgers got the monkey off his back on Monday night against the Lions while the Niners are off to a solid 2-0 start with both games coming on the road. These are two very different teams with different strengths and weaknesses, and it should set up a very compelling potential playoff preview. Let’s take a look at where some value might be on player prop bets for this game.

Aaron Rodgers Over 271.5 Passing Yards

Like I mentioned in the intro, Rodgers had the bounce-back game he needed in Week 2 but he only threw for 255 yards as the Packers didn’t need to generate much offense late as they nursed a multi-score lead. This week will be different, though, as I’m expecting San Francisco’s offense to make Rodgers compete for the whole game. The 49ers lost Jason Verrett for the year to a torn ACL and Emmanuel Mosley might not play this week, and I’m expecting Rodgers to be able to move the ball on a weakened secondary. Rodgers threw for 305 yards against the Niners last year and I’m expecting a similar output in this one.

Davante Adams Anytime Touchdown Scorer

Right in line with my expectation for Rodgers to have a strong game, I’m expecting Davante Adams to finally reach the end zone after not getting there in the first two games of the season. Don’t forget, this is a player who scored 18 touchdowns in 14 games last season. Rodgers threw for four touchdowns last week, none of which went to Adams. I don’t expect that to continue and at even money on most sportsbooks, Adams is my favorite bet to reach the end zone in this game. I also wouldn’t mind getting a little action on Adams to beat his receiving yardage total as he could break 100 yards in this matchup.

George Kittle Over 60.5 Receiving Yards, Over 5.5 Receptions

It’s been a slow start to the year for George Kittle as he has just 8 catches for 95 yards through two games. However, the Niners haven’t needed to throw the ball very much as their defense and running game has led the way. This won’t be one of those games, though, and Jimmy Garoppolo is going to look to get the ball to Kittle as the #1 receiving weapon as Deebo Samuel will likely see a lot of Jaire Alexander, the elite Packers cornerback. Kittle is one of the most talented tight ends in the NFL and it’s going to show this week in a game script that favors his receiving ability.

Deebo Samuel Under 6.5 Receptions

It isn’t a guarantee that the Packers put Jaire Alexander on Deebo Samuel, but that’s the most likely outcome in my mind. Alexander has allowed just 4 receptions for 44 yards in coverage through two games so far this season, per PFF. While none of the Saints or Lions wide receivers are nearly as talented as Samuel, I have a hard time seeing how Samuel gets 7 catches against Alexander. Kyle Shanahan is a master of scheming guys open, but the Niners have enough ancillary offensive weapons that they may just let Alexander take Samuel out of the game this week.
