Houston Texans vs. Miami Dolphins Player Props (11/7/21)
Contents
The Houston Texans didn’t expect a playoff run this season, but things have still been pretty rough for the team. Throughout a 1-7 start, the team has suffered numerous blowouts, lost their starting quarterback to injury, and has had to deal with off-the-field distractions such as the status of quarterback Deshaun Watson. The Miami Dolphins, on the other hand, have seen their high expectations for the season absolutely dashed. After nearly making the playoffs last year, the team is 1-7 and in serious danger of facing a regime shift if things don’t turn around. With two teams in need of a win, here are the player props you should take a look at when the Dolphins host the Texans.

Tyrod Taylor Over 228.5 Passing Yards
I’ve always felt like Tyrod Taylor deserves more. The veteran passer seems to consistently get starting jobs, face an unforeseen incident, and lose his job to a younger QB. Well, this time around Taylor is back and primed to air it out. The QB is also facing one of the absolute worst defenses in the league. The Miami Dolphins are currently allowing 291.1 passing yards per game, ranking 31st in the league. Taylor lit up the Jacksonville Jaguars for 291 yards in Week 1. Expect him to have a similar performance against the lowly Dolphins this week.
David Johnson Over 36.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards
Here’s a player that will benefit from both the return of Taylor and the weak opposing defense. Johnson has had a rough few weeks, but that’s mostly due to rookie Davis Mills struggling to take the reins. The last time Tyrod Taylor started, Johnson totaled 47 yards on the day. Considering the Miami Dolphins defense has all the strength of a wet paper towel, I’m expecting Johnson to rack up some yards.
Jaylen Waddle Over 63.5 Receiving Yards
If you’ve read some of my other prop previews, you know I’m not big on Tua Tagovailoa. However, the QB has been airing it out in recent weeks, averaging 275 passing yards the past three games. He’s also been connecting with former Alabama teammate Jaylen Waddle, who’s put up decent numbers in his rookie season. But I want to see more. Waddle has the opportunity to break out this week against the Houston Texans defense, which is allowing 253.3 passing yards per game. Count on Waddle to have a big day in Miami.
Tyrod Taylor Anytime TD Scorer +310
This is a great bounceback spot for Tyrod Taylor, and I think he’ll be productive both through the air and on the ground. Taylor can get some yards with his legs, and we got to see that the last time he took the field with the Texans. Taylor had a 15-yard scramble into the end zone against the Cleveland Browns, a defense much more capable than Miami’s. I’m seeing a high-scoring game this week, and Tyrod Taylor’s going to have opportunities to score with his arm and his legs. Take Tayor to find the end zone this week with the prop listed at +310 on DraftKings Sportsbook.
