Green Bay Packers vs Houston Texans
The Green Bay Packers (4-1) will take on the Houston Texans (1-5) on Sunday at 1 PM EST. The Packers lost their first game of the season last week when they were blown out by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 38-10. The Houston Texans lost in overtime 42-36 last week against the undefeated Tennessee Titans.
The Packers were humbled last week after opening up to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter. Then, the Tampa Bay defense took over and the Packers offense was non-existent. This week, against the Texans, the Packers won’t have to worry about that. Green Bay’s sixth-ranked total offense and the third highest-scoring offense should score plenty of points against this lowly Texans’ defense.
The Texans defense has been among the league’s worst this season. They have allowed the third-most yards per game, most rushing yards per game, and seventh-most points per game. Offensively, the Texans haven’t done much better. Quarterback Deshaun Watson has looked off at times, despite the Texans ranking third in passing, mostly due to them trailing most of the season. Houston has the second-worst rushing offense in the NFL.
The Packers’ defense struggles against the run but luckily for them, the Texans also struggle running the ball. After struggling terribly for three quarters last week, look for the Packers’ offense to come firing in this game and not slowing down. Packers’ coach Matt LaFleur likes to run and call a lot of play-action, both of which should be highly successful against this Texans’ defense. Look for Packers’ running back Aaron Jones to have a big game on the ground and catching balls out of the backfield as the Packers get the win and cover in a high-scoring contest.
