Inside The “Pick Six” Game
Late last week, the Indianapolis Colts announced the launch of their “Pick Six” predictor game presented by Caesars Sportsbook. The game, available on the Colts mobile app and at PickSix.Colts.com, was created in partnership with Genius Sports. The Colts’ recent 20-17 win over the Chiefs was the first time this season that Colts fans could play.
The purpose behind the game is to enhance the fan experience at every Colts game, by giving fans a series of challenging questions geared towards predicting player and team performances. Odds from Caesars Sportsbook are embedded into select questions. Each question is worth a certain number of points and fans compete against each other to score the most points and climb the weekly and season-long leaderboards. Fans can then redeem weekly and overall prizes based on their results, which includes a chance to win a VIP trip to Las Vegas with accommodations at a Caesars Entertainment property.
“Our ‘Pick Six’ game is a compelling element to engage with fans in fun and unique ways,” said Roger VanDerSnick, Colts Chief Sales & Marketing Officer. “The team at Genius Sports has provided us with an enhanced game that further integrates our partner, Caesars Sportsbook, while giving fans an interactive experience that tests their Colts knowledge throughout the season.”

Genius Sports Extends Its NFL Presence
Genius Sports is a sports data and technology company and is the NFL’s exclusive distributor of real-time and official play-by-play statistics. The NFL and Genius Sports struck a deal in 2021 to make that happen. It was reported that the multi-year deal was worth around $120 million, annually, with half of that being paid in the form of equity. The NFL is the largest American owner of equity in Genius Sports, controlling roughly 7.7% of the business.
“We’re thrilled to strike our latest NFL team deal with the Indianapolis Colts, helping to create more immersive and interactive fan experiences within their official app,” said Josh Linforth, MD of Media & Engagement at Genius Sports. “By building solutions that bring together our partners at the Colts and Caesars Sportsbook, this deal is a further case study of how Genius is driving the convergence of sports, betting and media for the benefit of our partners.”

Colts Season Outlook
In Week 3, the Colts silenced a lot of doubters with their 20-17 win over Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Following their 24-0 loss to the Jaguars in Jacksonville for the eighth time in a row, people were beginning to wonder if the then-AFC South favorites were in trouble. Only time will tell, but they’ve got a tough couple games ahead, facing AFC South rival Tennessee Titans followed by the Denver Broncos in Week 6.
They’ve got veteran quarterback Matt Ryan under center which provides them with an experienced playmaker though the majority of their offense will come on the ground through the hands of Jonathon Taylor. He’s been more modest since his 161-yard, one touchdown performance in Week 1, but he still remains their most talented player. A couple more in the win column for this team and they’ll be back on track.
