Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Indianapolis Colts Player Prop Picks

Jacksonville Jaguars vs Indianapolis Colts kicks off this Sunday in Indianapolis as a home game for the Colts. Jacksonville comes into this one as a -5 favorite and -205 on the moneyline while the total is set at 46.5. With question marks surrounding new Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson, value may reside in fading both him and the Colts as a team in this matchup.

Anthony Richardson u191.5 Pass Yds

It’s no secret that I am bearish on Anthony Richardson as his draft stock skyrocketed off his athleticism alone. He still struggles to accurately throw the ball, make the right read, and throws into turnover worthy situations. Simply put, the offense will be prone to stalling out should he fail to make any progression with his passing.

Worse yet, the Colts offensive line has steadily regressed as they racked up injuries last year. This does Richardson no wonders while his pocket collapses, forcing the quarterback into scrambling situations and throwing on the run.

The weapons on the outside are lackluster as well with Pittman serving as the go-to big bodied target. Relying more on his size than separation ability, banking on 50/50 balls at best. Not exactly a recipe for consistency, giving value towards the under until this abysmal unit can prove to be productive.

Calvin Ridley o63.5 Rec. Yds

After suffering injuries and a gambling related suspension, star wide receiver Calvin Ridley is ready to remind the nation why he is one of the best receivers in the league.

With Trevor Lawrence taking a massive stride in his production, he now has a true go-to downfield threat in Ridley. This was a missing dynamic in their offense last year as Christian Kirk slotted in that role, now getting the benefit of a multi tooled receiver who is capable of creating separation and burning defenses at every level of the field.

Factor in the other Jacksonville weapons that will command attention away from Ridley and he now finds himself in a very friendly situation to consistently burn singular coverage. A missing aspect late in his career when Julio Jones dealt with injuries, having to deal with constant double teams as the Falcons lacked other productive weapons.

Evan Engram Anytime Touchdown

Sometimes all a player needs is a change in scenery to unlock their potential and that is exactly what Evan Engram did when he arrived in Jacksonville and set career bests in receptions and receiving yards.

With the arrival of Calvin Ridley, attention is now drawn away from him as a dangerous pass catching tight end. This opens the middle in red zone situations as opposing second levels will now need to stretch out in an effort to slow down the receiving threat on the outside.

The Colts secondary will be tested, yet their defensive line and linebacking unit still has quality talent. Should they get Lawrence to get the ball out of his hands quicker than expected, an anchored tight end in the gap is the usual go-to target in red zone situations.

Anthony Richardson Longest Rush u14.5 Yds

While I debated fading Richardson’s total rushing yards, I struggled to pull the trigger as his volume may give him an opportunity to clear it. His regressing offensive line will force him into scrambling situations, giving him an uptick in rushing attempts.

The issue is that the Jags possess an above average defense and get the added benefit of spying Richardson throughout the contest. Especially because they can forfeit the extra coverage against an anemic Colts pass catching unit.

Factor in the added pressure generated through the interior of the pocket and getting the ability to screen down the outside to cut off his running lane and Richardson will have a hard time trying to get a gain by himself of 15 yards or more.
