Jalen Hurts Super Bowl 57 MVP Odds: Latest Super Bowl 2023 MVP Odds

Jalen Hurts Super Bowl MVP odds are . Patrick Mahomes is set to be the regular season MVP, but can a different quarterback snag the Super Bowl MVP award? Jalen Hurts is coming off a breakthrough season, improving as a passer while utilizing his mobility with the help of an elite offensive line.

The playoffs haven’t been a showcase for Hurts so far, but one big performance to win a championship could quickly change the narrative. Let’s take a look at Hurts’ Super Bowl MVP odds and analyze his chances.

Jalen Hurts Super Bowl MVP Odds

Hurts enters at +120 to win Super Bowl MVP, slightly edging Mahomes out as the favorite. Hurts is the natural favorite because the Eagles are slightly favored, though the presence of some game-changing weapons in A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith means an Eagles win is not a guaranteed MVP for Hurts.

Hurts, who reportedly entered the playoffs less than 100% as he recovers from a shoulder injury, looked terrific early on against the Giants but ultimately didn’t have to do too much in Philadelphia’s blowout win. He finished 16-of-24 for 154 yards and two touchdowns, adding a rushing touchdown.

He was less effective against a great 49ers defense, finishing 15-of-25 for 121 yards plus a rushing touchdown. Hurts showed flashes and made mistakes, also using his mobility in key moments, but it was the running game that did the most damage against San Francisco.

The Chiefs’ defense should be an easier challenge, though it shouldn’t be underestimated after a great performance against the Bengals. If the Eagles’ offensive line can limit what’s become a much more formidable pass-rush recently, Hurts should have plenty of time to make throws and pick up big gains on the ground.

Nerves could be a factor here. Hurts exudes confidence, but the Super Bowl is a different animal. One quarterback has been here before and one hasn’t. Even Mahomes started slowly in his first Super Bowl.

You might remember that didn’t cost him the MVP award, though. The Super Bowl MVP award is more emotional than season-long awards, and it feels easier for voters to be captivated by the big names of quarterbacks. There’s a reason 10 of the last 15 winners are quarterbacks, including a couple wins by Tom Brady when James White or Devin White might’ve had more compelling cases.

If the Eagles win and Hurts avoids turnovers, there’s a great chance he wins this award. Brown and Smith could be meaningful challengers to Hurts’ MVP candidacy if the Eagles win, considering both have big-play ability and can rack up yards in the blink of an eye.

If you believe in voter bias, Hurts is a very well-liked and popular figure – more popular than Matthew Stafford was last year when the award went to Cooper Kupp. Brown and Smith are threats to take this award away from Hurts, and Hurts’ inexperience is a threat to give the Chiefs an easier path to a win, but you can’t be blamed for taking your chances on Hurts at +120.
