Kentucky Derby 2020 Odds, Predictions, Bonus $300 Bet: How to Live Stream Online
Contents
2020 has been a crazy year in itself. In the sports world, it has been no different. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic that essentially shut down the sports world for over four months, we are seeing some sports and events being held months later than they typically would. The 2020 Kentucky Derby is one of those events.
Usually held in early May, this year’s Kentucky Derby will be held four months later on September 5th. Another key difference this year, the Kentucky Derby is not the first leg of the Triple Crown this year. Instead, the Belmont Stakes was held back in June with Tiz the Law (the first New York-bred winner since the 1880s) winning the race. Now, headed into the Kentucky Derby here in September, Tiz the Law is the favorite, and one of the biggest favorites in years.

The Favorites
Tiz the Law has won it’s last four races, and five of the last six. Trainer Barclay Tagg and Sackatoga Stable already have one Kentucky Derby-winning horse on their resume with Funny Cide back in 2003. Built for longer races, this accomplished colt is the clear favorite and deservedly so.
Odds: 3-5
Honor A.P. enters the 2020 Kentucky Derby as the second-favorite. His most notable pedigree comes on his mother’s side, Hollywood Story (who finished with a 27-4-6-6 career record and over $1.1 million in earnings). A fan of longer races, Honor A.P. has a win and two runner-ups in its last three races. With the best odds of upsetting Tiz the Law, you can expect to see Honor A.P. near the front of the pack on the final stretch.
Odds: 5-1
Authentic is the third-favorite heading into the start of the 2020 Kentucky Derby and will line-up on the outside in Gate 18. Any Bob Baffert-trained horse is certainly one to keep an eye on. However, Authentic isn’t known for his distance running, which means the Kentucky Derby is not the type of race he excels in. Likely to be out front early, don’t be surprised to see this horse run out of gas as the race nears the end.
Odds: 8-1

The Longshots
After the three favorites on the three outside gates, the odds start to drop heavily. The next biggest favorite is Thousand Words coming in at 15-1. After Ny Traffic and King Guillermo, both coming in at 20-1, the remaining horses all sit at either 30-1 or 50-1.

Prediction
Tiz the Law is the huge favorite and this race is certainly his to lose. However, last year’s winner came in at 65-1 when Country House won due to disqualification, so anything is certainly possible. So while Tiz the Law is the best selection, one of the favorites to avoid would be Authentic due to the distance of the race.
Looking at some of the longer odds horses, Sole Volante and even 50-1 Storm the Court are two horses that are worth throwing a few bucks on. Look for both of these horses to be near the front of the pack as this race heads to the finish line.
