Las Vegas Raiders Super Bowl Odds 2024: Latest Super Bowl 58 Odds

The Las Vegas Raiders current Super Bowl odds are . The Raiders entered 2023 with fewer expectations after replacing Derek Carr with Jimmy Garoppolo and failing to address most of their defensive holes. Still, the hope in Las Vegas was that Josh McDaniels’ system would start to catch on in year two with the two-headed monster of Davante Adams and Josh Jacobs still on the roster.

Even with a new regime under center with the addition of Jimmy Garoppolo, oddsmakers are tempering their expectations of the Las Vegas Raiders turning this around as their Super Bowl Odds imply they are a longshot at best. That comes as no surprise, and little has changed even after the Raiders opened the season with a win in Denver. A blowout loss to the Bills halted any expectation that this Raiders team has taken a meaningful step forward from last season, and losing a winnable game to the Steelers was another blow to McDaniels’ team.

The loss to Buffalo was a reminder that the Raiders’ defense hasn’t improved much at all. The defense ranked near dead last in Overall Def DVOA last season. They lacked any sort of production in their secondary, finishing dead last in Def Pass DVOA. Not all the blame is on their secondary as the Raiders lack of pass rushers makes the back-ends job even harder as the offense has more time to let plays develop. With weaknesses at all three areas of their defense, the Raiders lack the production to even be a viable longshot.

One bright spot is that the Raiders do field a competitive offense. Even in the midst of all their injuries and off-field distractions, they finished 16th in Overall Off DVOA off the back of an elite ground game in 2022. Josh Jacobs ran wild last season in an effort to gain a massive contract extension heading into this season. Instead of an extension, Jacobs signed a one-year deal to remain with the team in 2023.

Unfortunately, Jacobs hasn’t looked the same early this season. He struggled with efficiency in Week 1 and was held to -2 rushing yards against the Bills. If the Raiders are forced to go to the passing game after falling into an early hole, as they were in Buffalo, it will be tough to take advantage of Jacobs’ rushing ability.

Davante Adams is a game-changing receiver and has looked terrific early in 2023, but Jimmy Garoppolo has looked lost when targeting any other weapon. After a turnover-riddled loss to the Steelers, oddsmakers are quickly losing any faith they had in the Raiders.

With every level of their defense needing improvement, as well as the offensive line, the Raiders went into the draft shrouded in mystery for what position they would attack first. Expecting a reach on Christian Gonzalez, or one of the trio of first tier offensive lineman, the Raiders went a different direction by selecting Texas Tech edge rusher Tyree Wilson. Once projected a potential second overall draft pick due to his freak athleticism, Wilson slid down the draft boards due to positional need after the Texans stuck with quarterback at number two overall.

Wilson oozes superstar potential with one of the higher floors of his draft class, but he’s also a raw prospect and could need time to make a high-level impact. The Raiders continued their early draft success by selecting star Notre Dame tight end Michael Mayer in the second round. Mayer was once regarded as the clear-cut number one tight end in his class before a lackluster combine dinged his stock. The Raiders are easing him along, as he only recorded one catch in his first two NFL games.
