Las Vegas Raiders vs. Cincinnati Bengals Player Props (1/15/22)

The first Wild Card matchup of the weekend is an exciting rematch between the Bengals and Raiders, two teams who have certainly exceeded expectations this season. You can check out our full matchup preview and betting guide for this game for more generic betting advice, and in this article, I’ll focus on the best player prop values from this contest. Josh Jacobs Under 60.5 Rushing Yards

One of the player props I had last week was the over on Josh Jacobs rushing yards, and he delivered big-time with 132 yards on the ground, his most of the season. So why turn back the other way? When he faced the Bengals earlier this year, he only had 37 rushing yards as the game got away from the Raiders, and they had to throw the ball to attempt to come back from a multiple-score deficit. I don’t expect this game to be the same kind of blowout, but the Raiders’ best path to success isn’t trying to run the ball against this defense. Cincinnati allowed just 102.5 rushing yards per game during the regular season, the fifth-fewest in the NFL, and Jacobs had been under this yardage line in ten of his fifteen games (66%) this season.

Joe Mixon Over 59.5 Rushing Yards and a TD

I love Joe Mixon’s props in this matchup after he ran for 123 yards and two touchdowns against the Raiders earlier this year. However, my favorite way to get some action on Mixon is to parlay on two of his props. His touchdown odds have drifted to about -160, and frankly, it should be around -200 as I feel very confident in him scoring a touchdown in this game. This is where I like to parlay the prop with another Mixon line to get back closer to even money. Mixon has gone over this line in nine of sixteen games this season (56%) and faces a Raiders’ defense that could look to put more defensive attention to the secondary to slow down a red-hot Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase. On DraftKings, when I’m writing this, you can currently get this prop parlay at +110 odds.

Zay Jones Over 3.5 Catches

While Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller are the big names, Zay Jones has come into his own in recent weeks following the release of Henry Ruggs. The return of Waller will inevitably take some attention away from Jones in terms of target share, but Jones still had five catches last week against the Chargers as Waller was fairly limited. You get the feeling that if last week hadn’t been a must-win game, he might not have suited up. With Waller potentially still limited and Renfrow the focus of the Bengals’ defense, look for Jones to get some one-on-one opportunities and still see a significant target share. Jones has 5+ catches in six of his last seven games, and the Bengals have been somewhat vulnerable against the pass – they rank 24th in pass defense DVOA. You can also look at Jones’s longest reception over 18.5 yards, as the Bengals allow the fourth-highest rate of explosive passes.

Denzel Perryman Over 5.5 Tackles

Defensive props aren’t necessarily the most exciting, but I believe this is an excellent spot to target Perryman, the Raiders’ run-stopping linebacker. Perryman finished the regular season with 154 tackles, the sixth-most in the NFL, despite playing two fewer games than most of his contemporaries. This year, Perryman had 6+ tackles in eleven of fifteen games (73%) and averaged 6.8 tackles per game. In an earlier matchup against Cincinnati, Perryman had nine tackles. If you think the Bengals will look to emphasize Joe Mixon on the ground as they did in the first matchup, and that seems like a reasonable conclusion to make, I love the idea of putting some action on Perryman to continue his strong trends in tackles.
