Las Vegas Raiders Vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Player Prop Picks

On Saturday night this week, we’ll celebrate Christmas Eve with a grudge match between two of the NFL’s classic franchises in the Raiders and Steelers. Keep an eye on the weather forecast for this game as Pittsburgh is expected to see winds of 15 miles per hour and temperatures dipping into the single digits.

In this article, I’ll break down the player props I believe offer the most value for this game. You can find more coverage on this game on our YouTube channel. Be sure to use the player prop search tool above to compare odds from different sportsbooks for this game, as odds shopping is always very important. Let’s get to work.

Najee Harris Over 70.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards (-114 FanDuel)

After a strong start, the Raiders’ run defense has regressed as of late, and they rank just 20th in rushing success rate allowed since Week 10. Meanwhile, Najee Harris has rapidly improved after a slow start to the year. Since Week 10, Harris is second in missed tackles forced and eighth in PFF’s elusiveness rating.

The Raiders have been vulnerable against pass-catching running backs all season as they allow the most receptions and receiving yards to the position. Harris’s receiving usage has been hit or miss, and he didn’t have a single target last week. However, the Steelers will likely utilize the short-area passing game even more this week due to the adverse weather conditions.

Over his last six games, Harris is averaging 86.4 yards from scrimmage, and he’s gone over this set prop in four of those. Harris looks to be fully recovered from the injury that hampered him earlier in the season. You can take his rushing or receiving yardage lines if you prefer, but I’ll take the extra coverage with the combined prop.

George Pickens Longest Reception Over 17.5 Yards (-114 FanDuel)

Uncertainty surrounding the weather conditions for this game will likely be enough for me to not place this prop, but that’s a shame as it would be such a perfect situation to fire this up. George Pickens has been a deep ball maestro for the Steelers lately with a catch of 30+ yards in four of his last five games.

Pickens ranks sixth among all wide receivers in deep targets, and the matchup is excellent here as the Raiders have allowed the fourth-highest deep completion rate and the eighth-most deep passing yards this year. If the weather ends up not being overly prohibitive, this will be my favorite prop for this Sunday Night Football game.

Josh Jacobs Over 82.5 Rushing Yards (-114 FanDuel)

It’s strength on strength here for Josh Jacobs as one of the most productive running backs in the NFL faces what has quickly become one of the best run defenses in the league after a slow start to the year. Can Jacobs overcome the difficult matchup and have a big game like he has all season?

In a contract year, Jacobs has certainly delivered as he ranks ninth in juke rate, second in evaded tackles, and fourth in breakaway runs. He has 21 or more carries in each of his last six games, and there’s no question he’ll be in that range again with the weather conditions making passing more difficult.

Since Week 10, the Steelers rank top seven in rushing success rate, EPA, and yards per game allowed. The Raiders lead the NFL in adjusted line yards, but Cameron Heyward, T.J. Watt, and Alex Highsmith will put their offensive line in a bind. Still, betting on Jacobs to overcome the difficult matchup is a reasonable proposition given the volume he’ll receive.
