Los Angeles Rams Vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Player Prop Picks
When we looked ahead to this matchup earlier in the season, we didn’t expect these teams to have losing records, but they’ve both been disappointing to start the season. However, this is still a rematch of a playoff matchup from last year, and there will be playoff intensity. In this article, I’ll break down my favorite player prop values for this game. You can use the Rams vs. Buccaneers player prop search tool above to compare odds from different sportsbooks for this game. Let’s get to work.
Mike Evans 100+ Receiving Yards and a Touchdown (+470 FanDuel)
One of the strengths of the Rams’ defense was expected to be Jalen Ramsey, their superstar corner. However, the Rams have struggled all year against WR1s as they rank 30th in pass defense DVOA against them. They’ve allowed 8.6 receptions for 89.2 yards per game to WR1s per Football Outsiders.
In these teams’ playoff matchup last year, Mike Evans torched Ramsey to the tune of eight catches for 119 yards and a score. Evans has averaged 6.7 catches for 97 yards per game against the Rams in his career. You can simply bet on his receiving yardage prop, but I love the idea of boosting the odds on FanDuel with a small SGP including Evans to hit 100+ yards and a touchdown.
Tyler Higbee Over 36.5 Receiving Yards (-106 Caesars)
After a hot start to the year with 57.4 receiving yards per game through his first five games, Tyler Higbee has slowed down as of late with just 22 yards combined over his last two games. However, he could be an integral part of the offense this week as Cooper Kupp is dealing with an ankle injury that could hamper his ability to produce.
The Buccaneers have been vulnerable to tight ends this season, ranking 18th in pass defense DVOA against the position and allowing 60.4 receiving yards per game. Last week, in the wake of Mark Andrews suffering an injury, Isaiah Likely caught six passes for 77 yards and a score against Tampa Bay. Higbee is an experienced veteran fully capable of putting up numbers here.
Leonard Fournette Under 3.5 Receptions (+115 DraftKings)
After starting the year as a crucial part of the Buccaneers’ passing game, Leonard Fournette has just five catches over the last two weeks. That’s a far cry from the four-week stretch where he averaged seven catches per game. Fournette has just three targets in each of the last two games.
Leonard Fournette is less crucial in the passing game as the return to health of Chris Godwin has mitigated his targets in the short area of the field. In addition, the Rams’ lack of consistent pass rush should enable Tom Brady to push the ball a bit further downfield this week. All told, the sportsbooks have been slow to react here, and I’ll happily take plus money on this under.
