2023 Masters Odds

It’s that special time of year again where the Masters tee-off in Augusta, Georgia. There’s no other Golf Tournament on the PGA Tour that seems as special as the Masters does and when it’s on everyone’s watching to see what’s happening. The field this year is also full of talent with 88 total players all of which are ranked in some way on the PGA Tour, or are 1 of the 18 LIV golfers competing in the event too.

Outright Winner Odds

Scottie Scheffler (+650): Scheffler has been on fire recently and he’s coming into this Masters as the defending champion. He’s finished no worse than 12th in every start he’s had since this past fall. He’s also been on fire recently, just like he was last year before he won the green jacket for the first time. The odds here have low value, but he’s playing so well it makes sense. It’s just hard for oddsmakers to go against him as the #1 ranked golfer right now.

Rory McIlroy (+750): McIllroy is in a very long major drought, but he has some momentum coming into this Masters. He’s played very well in Augusta recently with top-10 finishes in half of his last 14 Masters appearances. He’s knocking on the door, won this year in Dubai, and finished third in the WGC-Dell Technologies Tournament. He’s got extra motivation too because a win here would put him as the 6th golfer to accomplish the Career Grand Slam.

Jon Rahm (+800): Rahm is another golfer that’s been on fire this season leading up to the Masters. There was a time to start the season when Rahm won every event before the Waste Management Open. He rounds out a trio of golfers that are all expected to contend in Augusta this year. He’s one of the big boys in the golf world and a win in Augusta would cement himself even more as one of the best golfers in the world.

Top-5 Finish Odds

Patrick Cantlay (+280): Cantlay has been having himself a very solid PGA Tour this season. He’s finished in the top-25 of eight events this year, with four of those finishes being in the top-10 and one as high as being the runner-up. This momentum should carry over to Augusta, even though his past finishes there have been inconsistent at best, with the highest finish for him being 9th place in 2019. Top-5 is a fair expectation because of his season so far.

Jordan Spieth (+360): Spieth has won a green jacket, but it’s been 8 years since he did. Since then, he’s had four top-20 finishes, highlighted by a top three finish in 2021. Spieth’s been inconsistent overall recently, but he has a lot of familiarity with the course. He’s third in the field at strokes gained in the field and that matters. Familiarity and where and how to hit in inclement weather are a factor, making him reliable and these odds make sense.

Top-10 Finish Odds

Tony Finau (+180): Finau has been a little hit or miss at Augusta in terms of where he’s finished, but he’s never missed a cut during his time playing there. He’s finished top-10 twice at Augusta too. He’s got momentum on his side, with three wins on the tours since last year’s Masters, so he’ll be ready for this week. He’s been very consistent this season, only missing the cut once. It’s safe odds for someone that has momentum like Finau.

Justin Thomas (+200): Thomas hasn’t been playing great since his win at the PGA Championship last year. He’s been inconsistent, especially putting. However, the Masters are different and he figures to factor into this tournament in some way. It’s a clean slate for him with little pressure and that might be exactly what he needs at Augusta. These odds make sense from that perspective in the top-10.

Xander Schauffele (+200): Schauffele comes into this field a bit under the radar. He’s had three top-10 finishes in 2023 and he’s shaken off a back issue to start the season too. He has two top three finishes in Augusta, so these odds for top-10 make sense at a course he has familiarity with. Schauffele is underrated across the board too.

Top 20 Finish Odds

Collin Morikawa (-120): Morikawa can win any event, but he’s proven to be very volatile at times and drifting at times at events. Still, he has the skillset for Augusta and these odds make sense for that

Dustin Johnson (-115): Johnson is the best LIV golfer in the field and will carry that torch all week, these odds reflect that too in the top-20.
