Memphis Grizzlies vs. Golden State Warriors Player Prop Picks
A brewing rivalry will continue on Christmas Day when the Memphis Grizzlies head to San Francisco, California, to take on the Golden State Warriors. This game is filled with exciting player prop bets, including Ja Morant points, Desmond Bane three-pointers, and Brandon Clarke rebounds, so check them out down below!
Ja Morant Over 27.5 Points (-115)
Ja Morant has quietly (or not so quietly) put together an MVP-caliber season through the first part of the 2022-23 regular season. It will definitely be an uphill battle with Giannis, Jokic, and many others putting together their best campaigns, but Morant is playing at that level.
The Golden State Warriors have been absolutely atrocious on the defensive end of the floor without Steph Curry; they have a defensive rating of 125.1 in the seven games that he has been unavailable. It’s difficult to explain that poor rating qualitatively. To make matters worse, the Warriors allow the seventh-most points to opposing point guards, and that number inflates with Curry sidelined.
There will be ample opportunities for Morant to score in this game, whether in transition, where Golden State ranks 16th in opponent transition points per game, or in the half-court. Additionally, Jordan Poole will be assigned to defend Morant, and Poole is an atrocious defender. Morant should be in for a massive game.
Desmond Bane Over 2.5 Threes (-110)
Finally, Desmond Bane is back in the lineup, and all is right in Memphis again! In Bane’s first game back, he admittedly was gassed in the second quarter, leaving multiple shots short. However, his form looked excellent, and the weight distribution in his shot was terrific. He will play his second game against the Golden State Warriors on Sunday and is due for huge scoring output, especially from behind the arc.
Bane hit two three-pointers out of the eight he attempted against Phoenix. It’s highly unlikely that he will shoot 2-for-8 again, especially against this horrendous Warriors defense. Additionally, Bane only played 24 minutes on Friday night; expect him to play at least a few more minutes on Christmas Day.
Bane should reach close to double-digit three-point attempts in this matchup, and his odds of hitting at least three are quite high with a substantial amount of volume.
Brandon Clarke Over 5.5 Rebounds (-120)
As far as role players go, Brandon Clarke is one of the best in the NBA. Clarke always plays within himself and excels at the things he can do, including floaters, baby hooks, spin moves, rebounding, and the pick-and-roll.
Brandon Clarke is particularly impressive on the glass, as mentioned above. Clarke averages 5.3 rebounds per game but has had at least six rebounds in six of his past seven games.
Golden State ranks 24th in total rebounding rate, while Memphis is first in rebounds per game. The Warriors don’t have the size to keep Clarke off the boards, especially in their second unit. As long as Clarke logs 20-25 minutes, this should easily hit.
