So BetMGM will give you $100 in bonus bets if you side you bet scores a touchdown. Awesome! Now, what if you want to bet the spread or Moneyline in the Week 3 Thursday night matchup? Let’s break it down. Miami comes into the season 0-2, and the Jaguars are 1-1 thanks to a Week 1 upset against the Colts. Both teams almost pulled out miracle fourth-quarter comebacks in Week 2 but failed to do so.

Both teams have been decent at putting up points early on this season and moving the football. Jacksonville has been surprisingly better with averaging 6.0 yards per play, good for 10th in the NFL, and Miami has struggled offensively, although they put up 28 points against a solid Bills defense. They are only averaging 5.2 yards per play, good for 25th.

Defensively, things are not as bright for either side. The Jaguars are 26th in the NFL in defensive yards per game, and the Dolphins are 32nd. Both teams should be able to move the ball to one another.

According to Football Outsiders, their efficiencies are some of the worst in the league. The Dolphins rank 31st in rush defensive efficiency ins 32nd in passing defensive efficiency. The Jaguars are top 10 in both rushing and passing efficiency on offense, so moving the ball should not be a problem. Miami is not as good as they rank in the bottom half of both rushing and passing efficiency.

The Dolphins could move the football through the air, however, as the Jaguars are 31st in defensive passing efficiency. Jacksonville’s run defense is very good, which could play well into the over the Jaguars do get a lead. Miami will need to pass more, which make the game higher scoring.

Pick: Jaguars TT Over 24.5

The Jaguars to score points? Yes. The Dolphins defense is a liability this season as they have not been able to slow down anyone. I’m not too fond of the hook in this one, however. A clean 24 would be nice, but I think the Jaguars will be able to move the football in Miami.

Historically, home teams on Thursday night have had more success with the situation of being at home and not needing to travel. This should help Jacksonville get over the 24.5 mark on Thursday.
