MLB Daily Pennsylvania Pitch 8/12/19: FanDuel Sportsbook Betting Odds & Analysis
Contents
Saturday’s article went 2-1. The Mets and Nationals hit the under of eight, while the Padres were able to cover late against Colorado. The lone loss was Arizona and Los Angeles going under. The total record is now 43-29. We have a doubleheader on the slate, and also Coors. Houston is another monster favorite on the road against Chicago. We should be looking at plenty of offense tonight.
Texas Rangers @ Toronto Blue Jays Over 11
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: -104
Texas comes into Toronto tonight, where we typically see the Rangers offense struggle. By that, I mean on the road. However, the Rogers Centre is a decent place to hit, and they will get a committee approach from Toronto. Stewart, Ramirez, and Godley are the names mentioned to get time today. None have much promise to finish out the season strong, and I like the Texas offense to do some damage. Ariel Jurado will take on a suddenly hot Toronto team in terms of offense, as the young bats have jumpstarted this team. He is allowing a .350 wOBA to right-hander, and a .310 wOBA to lefties this season. His ERA so far in the second half is at 6.00, and he has allowed 4 HR in those 27 innings. The over is 7-2-1 in the last ten meetings between these two teams.
Tampa Bay Rays @ San Diego Padres Under 8
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: -104
Tampa Bay will travel down the coast to San Diego, where they will take on the Padres. Losing the DH will take a bat out of their lineup, and both starting arms are in a good spot against the opposing offenses. Both teams also have strong bullpens. I am not expecting a ton of offense in this game. Diego Castillo will start, but this is one of those committee games for the Rays, which has been successful. Two of the last three starts have been on the under for Joey Lucchesi, as he has worked into the six in the last three games. The Rays are a middle of the road team versus southpaws, and this projected lineup doesn’t have much pop against them. They also strikeout quite a bit. Adding this in with the fact that Petco Park is a tough place to hit, I will grab the under here.
Arizona Diamondbacks @ Colorado Rockies Over 13.5
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: -118
We got ourselves a Coors game, which was brought mixed over-under results when it comes to Arizona visiting. It is 5-5 in the last ten games. However these arms and bullpens don’t present a ton of promise for keeping this game in check. Merrill Kelly has allowed 17 ER in his last three starts, two of those teams were Miami and Baltimore. Peter Lambert has allowed 15 ER over the last three starts. The over is 31-24-1 at home for the Rockies, and away from home for Arizona, the over is 34-27-2. The Rockies average 6.4 runs per game at home, and the Diamondbacks average 5.5 runs away from home. An early outing for both these arms seems likely, which puts some pedestrian bullpen arms in line to make appearances. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a position player pitching alert come through my Twitter timeline at some point tonight.
