MLB Daily Pennsylvania Pitch 8/19/19: FanDuel Sportsbook Betting Odds & Analysis
Contents
The Saturday article was 2-1. The Angels and White Sox game was an over of 10, and the Dodgers-Braves hit the under. Jacob deGrom’s strikeout prop was the only one that didn’t hit. Saturday brings us to a 53-36-1 record. Monday is a fairly large slate as we near the end of August. There are no elite names on the hill tonight, and a lot of high totals.
Minnesota Twins -1.5
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: -116
The Twins are back at home and have been scuffling of late. They are monster favorites tonight against the White Sox, leading to a poor return on the moneyline. However, I like the Twins to cover the spread for a far better return. Kyle Gibson is an arm capable of shutting down this squad, and of course this Twins offense is in a great spot against Ivan Nova. Minnesota is 9-2 in their last ten home games against the White Sox, and have covered the spread in all but four games. Over the last ten games regardless of location, the Twins offense is averaging 7.1 runs per game, while the White Sox are just at 2.9. They are 3-11 in the last 14 games against the White Sox. Minnesota is 69-55 ATS this season, and 36-26 at home.
Houston Astros -2.5
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: -118
This might be the most unfair matchup I have seen this season. The Astros are -384 favorites, and to win by two they are -196 favorites. Let’s grab the alternates line here with them to win by a handful. Wade Miley has been solid this season just in terms of limiting damage and getting wins. The Tigers are one of the worst teams in baseball, and Edwin Jackson on the hill has given the Astros the highest implied total on the slate. The Astros have been a profitable team this season, and are 32-26 ATS at home. Overall they have just lost 15 games at home. Detroit is 10-16 against left-handed pitching this season. Coming off a tough series in Oakland, the Astros will look to get back on track against one of the poorer teams in the league.
Los Angeles Angels @ Texas Rangers Over 11.5
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: -108
Games in Texas generally are high scoring, and this Angels team has always done well here in terms of offense. The Angels have an implied total of six, and the Rangers sit at 5.7. Texas’ offense comes to life at home, where they struggle on the road. Los Angeles also gets an upgrade just moving to a better hitters park. With two mediocre lefties on the mound, there should be plenty of fireworks. Overall the Angels offense has been clicking, and the over has gone seven straight. The over is 2-0-1 in the last three starts by Allard. It is also 2-1 in the last three starts made by Peters.
