Minnesota is 3-0 in the last three starts Kyle Gibson has made against the Kansas City Royals. Overall he is 10-4 on the year with a 4.10 ERA. Danny Duffy comes into tonight’s game with a 5-5 record, and a 4.42 ERA. The Twins are 28-25 ATS at home this season, and 59-50 overall. When they play divisional games, the spread is a big winner going 23-15. Overall Minnesota has been a profitable team this year. They are 9-2 in their last 11 home games against the Royals, as both teams are spread apart in the standings. The Twins are heavy home favorites implied for 6.1 runs, while the Royals are at an implied total of four. Gibson is a solid right-hander who can limit offenses, while Duffy will have to face one of the toughest offenses in the league. Minnesota has better numbers in just about every stat outside of errors per game in comparison to Kansas City. Fire away.

The strikeout prop is sky high for Walker Buehler, and deservingly so. He has a 28% strikeout rate this season, and 28.2% dating back to last year. He faces a heavy right-handed lineup, which their projected lineup has a 27% strikeout rate against right-handed pitching. They have five hitters with over a 25% strikeout rate, and three with over a 30% rate. This doesn’t include the pitcher. Buehler is striking out 29% of right-handed hitters this season. The Padres haven’t faced Buehler this season, but he tallied up 16 strikeouts in two starts against them last year. I have Buehler having a huge night at home, where he has a 32% strikeout rate compared to 24.4% on the road. It also helps out that the Padres average 10.1 strikeouts per game as a team.

Aaron Nola is coming off a hot July where he had 43 strikeouts over 39.1 innings. He has a 27% strikeout rate at home this season, and his strikeout rate has been above average this season (26.4%). He gets a Chicago White Sox projected lineup with a 24.3% strikeout rate against right-handed pitching. They also lose the DH heading into the NL ballpark. Nola has that excellent curveball that has a 36% whiff rate. The White Sox have just three bats with over a 70% contact rate against it, and three below 60%. This is a great spot for Nola at home, and the Phillies in general. On the year, Chicago has averaged 9.6 strikeouts per game as a team, which is one of the highest ranks in the league.
