The Diamondbacks and Phillies hit the over of 9.5, but Zack Greinke failed to hit his strikeout prop on the over. The Dodgers covered the spread, but failed to hit the team total bringing us to a 2-2 night The total record is now 34-26. There are more weather concerns tonight, as the Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and Boston games are in doubt. There are a lot of day games, but we will focus on the evening slate as usual.
San Diego Padres Over 5 Runs

The San Diego lineup presents a threat to go off tonight, as they are loaded with right-handed bats that decimate left-handed pitching. The projected lineup has a .421 wOBA and .263 ISO off southpaws this season. Kikuchi has struggled mostly against the Angels this season, but his stuff just does not wow me. Hitters have an 80% contact rate against him, and his 16% strikeout rate is very pedestrian. With an xFIP over five, and allowing a .369 wOBA and .235 ISO to right-handers, the Padres are in a great spot tonight. The Padres are also an enticing moneyline and spread bet too. Joey Lucchesi is in a good spot on the other side against a subpar Mariners offense.
Philadelphia Phillies @ Arizona Diamondbacks -1.5

Zac Gallen is making his first start for the Diamondbacks, which Arizona stole him from Miami over the past week. He however faces a familiar opponent with the Phillies in town. This offense looks tremendous on paper, but they have been very inconsistent. Jason Vargas is pitching for Philadelphia, which was a move where the GM was just going to see if it works. He has an xFIP over five, and a 20% strikeout rate. The Arizona lineup has a collective 16% strikeout rate against southpaws, with a .387 wOBA and .241 ISO. This is great value on the Diamondbacks. Gallen has allowed five earned runs ottal in his last three starts, and has been a heavy favorite in two of the three. Philadelphia is 25-28 on the road and have struggled against Arizona.
James Paxton Over 6.5 Strikeouts

There is some rain in the area, but this game looks to have a window to get it in. James Paxton has big strikeout upside against this group. He has a 29% strikeout rate on the year, and the projected lineup has a 25% strikeout rate against southpaws for Baltimore. Paxton has 14 strikeouts in two starts against Baltimore, and his second half strikeout rate is at 32%. Paxton hasn’t been efficient in allowing runs, but the strikeouts have been there. Great spot for Paxton to dominate, and the strikeout total of 6.5 is fairly generous. If there are any weather changes, I will post an update here, but at the moment it looks fine.
