NBA Best Bets For Monday, Feb. 10
Check out three bets below for Monday’s NBA games.
Chet Holmgren 2+ Blocks (-150 DraftKings) & 3+ Blocks (+195 DraftKings)
Chet Holmgren made his return from injury on Friday night. He looked very fluid and managed to notch four blocks and a pair of steals in just 22 minutes.
OKC will want to bring him back slowly before ramping it up after the All-Star break, so it’s unclear exactly how many minutes Holmgren will see tonight. Somewhere in the low to mid 20s seems logical based on his debut. That should be enough time for arguably the second-best shot-blocker in the game to wreak havoc.
New Orleans’ offense ranks 25th in 3-point attempt rate and is averaging the 10th-most paint attempts per game. Zion Williamson’s interior scoring is a huge chunk of the Pelican’s offense, and center Yves Missi doesn’t stretch the floor. Therefore, look for Holmgren to rack up contests inside the paint and consistently bother the Pelicans.
Excluding the contest where he broke his hip, Holmgren has recorded two or more blocks in eight of 10 games and three-plus blocks in five of 10 games this season. It’s also worth noting that the 22-year-old has produced two blocks in both of his career games versus Williamson.
Overall, Holmgren is in prime position to dominate a Pelicans squad that is surrendering the fifth-most blocks per game to opposing centers.
I recommend playing his 2+ blocks prop at one and a half units and his 3+ blocks prop at half of a unit.
PJ Washington 2+ Made Threes (-120 FanDuel)
Anthony Davis’ injury means the Mavericks will need PJ Washington to play heavy minutes. He meets a porous Kings defense that has deterred rim attempts but is allowing the sixth-most catch-and-shoot field goal attempts per game. It especially is vulnerable from the corners and against forwards, which favors Washington.
He has knocked down a pair of triples in eight of nine career matchups versus Sacramento. Check out his stats from deep against the Kings since joining the Mavericks:
- 4-for-6
- 2-for-8
- 4-for-9
Washington has a great chance of hitting this prop if he comes close to replicating that volume. I suggest playing this prop at one unit.
Trey Murphy III First Pelicans Basket (+320 FanDuel)
OKC’s defense smothers pick-and-roll ball handlers as well as rim threats. However, the Thunder are extremely vulnerable to elite catch-and-shoot weapons, and Trey Murphy III certainly qualifies.
Over his last 22 games, Murphy has averaged 25.5 points per game while sinking 41.7% of his triples. He is clearly the top off-ball option for the Pelicans.
I recommend playing it at half of a unit.
