NBA Best Bets For Tuesday, May 6

Check out four bets below for Tuesday’s NBA games.

Tyrese Haliburton 10+ Assists (-150 FanDuel) & 12+ Assists (+180 FanDuel)

Indiana stole Game 1 on the road largely due to Tyrese Haliburton’s masterful performance. He got to his spots at will, didn’t force possessions, and carved the Cavaliers up by taking what the defense gave him. This is what makes his dominance highly replicable – it’s a reactionary style that’s not reliant on premeditated actions.

Cleveland simply couldn’t contain Haliburton at the point of attack, and it may be even more challenging in Game 2 if Darius Garland returns. The All-Star is dealing with a toe injury, which likely hinders his mobility. Factor in Garland’s undersized frame, and Haliburton should decimate the Cavaliers in high ball screens to an even higher degree.

Indiana’s star point guard notched 13 assists and 19 potential assists in Game 1, and I expect him to once again rack up dimes tonight. He’s hit 10+ assists in five of six games and 12+ in four of six games so far this postseason.

I suggest playing his 10+ line at one and a half units and his 12+ line at half of a unit.

De’Andre Hunter Under 13.5 Points (-114 FanDuel)

Indiana’s defense bleeds paint attempts but smothers the arc. They surrendered the fifth-lowest 3-point attempt rate and eighth-fewest wide open triples during the regular season. That’s concerning for De’Andre Hunter because 46.1% of his total points since joining the Cavs have come from distance.

Meanwhile, the trade deadline acquisition dislocated his thumb on his shooting hand during the series opener. He’s subsequently questionable for Game 2. It’s likely that the injury impacts Hunter’s shooting if he plays, and his minutes could also be reduced.

I would play this line at one unit.

Minnesota Timberwolves -6.5 (-110 DraftKings)

The Timberwolves have the tools to send the Warriors packing.

Jaden McDaniels and Nickeil Alexander-Walker are lengthy, athletic defenders to throw at Stephen Curry. Minnesota’s elite rim protection can bother Jimmy Butler’s slashing, and the Wolves’ size advantage will be crucial on the boards.

On the other end, Minnesota’s offense is far more lethal than Houston’s. Nobody on Golden State’s roster is qualified to check Anthony Edwards’ shot-creation and shot-making, and Minnesota’s 3-point shooting is capable of scorching the Warriors.

Finally, the Warriors just played a brutal seven-game series against Houston’s physical defense and only got one day of rest. That’s concerning for a veteran team with a ton of miles. Look for the Wolves to flex their muscles and overwhelm the Warriors on both sides of the court.

I would play the line at one unit.
