NBA Best Bets For Wednesday, April 30
Check out four bets below for Wednesday’s NBA games.
Rudy Gobert Under 6.5 Points (-105 DraftKings)
This series is theoretically a favorable matchup for Rudy Gobert because the Lakers are playing the vast majority of minutes without a center. Los Angeles’ already shaky trust in Jaxson Hayes is diminishing even further, as Hayes only logged four minutes in Game 4.
And yet, Gobert has struggled mightily to produce despite his significant height and size advantage. He’s not effective on rolls, isn’t cleaning the offensive glass for put-backs, and won’t seal his man deep inside the paint for a couple of easy post-up opportunities.
To put his offensive woes into perspective, Gobert has scored 14 points in 104 minutes this series. That’s 0.134 points per minute, so the veteran would need to register 52 minutes in order to score seven points based on that rate.
Gobert’s excellent defense will keep him on the floor, but he’s seeing around 25 minutes per game — which isn’t remotely close to the threshold.
I recommend playing this line at one unit. Gobert has gone under seven points in every game so far, and his offensive limitations remain the same.
Jimmy Butler 20+ Points (-128 FanDuel) & 25+ Points (+255 FanDuel)
Houston fields a superb defense, but it’s rightfully geared toward limiting Stephen Curry’s outside shooting. The Rockets are subsequently struggling to handle Jimmy Butler’s self-creation and rim pressure. He has been a menace on downhill actions, and his mastery of foul-drawing is on display.
Butler has scored 25 and 27 points this series. Look for him to crack 20 points once again thanks to his usage, driving ability, and free throws.
I suggest playing his 20+ points line at one unit and his 25+ points line at half of a unit.
Jimmy Butler First Warriors Basket (+250 FanDuel)
Butler took Golden State’s first shot of the game in 30% of his regular season starts, which led the team (minimum 15 starts). Factor in his explosive scoring so far this series, and I would play this line at half of a unit.
