Rajon Rondo ($5,100) vs Clippers– Rondo is questionable for tonight’s game so be sure to check the lineup before game time but if he does play I think he is a great option in the opening night 2 game slate. Last year in 3 games vs the Clippers Rondo was excellent scoring 17.7 PPG with 10.3 APG and 9.7 RPG. Obviously we can’t expect that kind of production but he was one of the highest assist men last year in the league and with the addition of Anthony Davis he should have even more opportunities. At $5,100 I think we are getting great value for a guy who does a little bit of it all.
Norman Powell ($4,000) vs Pelicans– With the departure of Kawhi Leonard the Raptors are going to have to look a lot of places for offense. Norman Powell typically gets his shots up in bunches and off the bench this year he will be expected to increase his scoring output. He shot a very healthy 40% from deep last season and even though we could see that slip his increase in shots and points should make up for it. At only $4,000 and not knowing a whole lot I think he is worth a shot here.
LeBron James ($9,900) vs Clippers– LeBron James is back healthy and he has some new weapons this year with Danny Green and most notably Anthony Davis. He stuffed the stat sheet in limited time this preseason so we shouldn’t expect LeBron to slow down in their big season opener vs the Clippers. It has been reported that we will also see LeBron run the point more this season which can be a great thing for fantasy owners. LeBron is the 2nd highest guy behind AD in tonight’s slate and for good reason put him in your lineup.
Pascal Siakam ($7,600) vs Pelicans– Fresh off of a new contract Pascal Siakam and his Raptors squad will take on the Pelicans tonight at home. Siakam like other players on the Raptros will need to step up the scoring to make up for the lost offense with the departure of Kawhi. Siakam burst onto the scene last season and we can only expect him to stuff the stat sheet even more this time around. He is priced fairly tonight and I am expecting him to play well in his debut.
Montrezl Harrell ($6,100) vs Lakers– Harrell is one of my favorite players in the NBA, he plays hard and is not afraid to mix it up a little bit when the time comes. He has worked to improve his jump shot over the past couple of seasons and is still one of the most powerful players in the post. We would like to see his rebound numbers tick up a bit but with the way he is priced nobody is expecting them to go up that much. Even if he can get a quick 17+ PTS tonight with his usual 6 boards I’ll be happy.
OG Anunoby ($3,900) vs Pelicans– OG wasn’t his best last season but he is expected to be inserted into the starting lineup and also be the Raptors best defender this season. He played well in the preseason averaging more than 10 PPG on 46% shooting from behind the arc with 1.5 SPG. He has showed flashes of increased production so at only $3,900 in a two game slate I see no issue in taking a flyer on the still young forward from the UK.
