Point Guard
Lonzo Ball ($6,900) vs Trail Blazers- Lonzo still hasn’t been shooting the ball great but he is doing enough in other aspects of the game to make him a valuable fantasy option. In the last 4 games, he is averaging 11 PPG 8.8 APG 4.3 RPG, and even added on 1.5 SPG. The Trail Blazers play no defense at all and in their last matchup Lonzo racked up 17 dimes which is a great sign. Obviously, we can’t expect that number again but things should come easy for Lonzo and company in this high-scoring matchup in Portland.
Shooting Guard
Terry Rozier ($6,600) vs Lakers– Despite a lot of guards getting playing time in Charlotte, Rozier has carved out a high-volume scoring role in the offense. In the last 4 games, he is averaging 20.3 PPG 3 APG and 3 RPG. He hasn’t done much other than score but he is showing now, and he has shown in the past that he can score in bunches. A majority of his shots come from deep, which is a plus, so getting him at $6,600 is a solid deal in my opinion. After two games in a row of 37 FPTS Rozier will have a spot in my lineup on the road vs the Lakers.
Small Forward
Josh Hart ($5,300) vs Trail Blazers- Despite not scoring the ball a lot, Josh Hart has been a very consistent fantasy player this season. Despite being an undersized forward, Hart makes his living on the glass. In the previous 4 games, Hart has put up 10 PPG and 7.8 RPG while shooting 50% from the field. Like Rozier, Hart has scored 30+ FPTS in each of his last 2 games and Hart has made 12 of his last 19 shots from the field. Like we said with Lonzo, the Blazers defense is so bad it’s going to be hard not to shoot the ball well in this matchup. At this price, Hart offers the most value.
Power Forward
John Collins ($7,200) vs Thunder- With trade rumors swirling, John Collins play had really taken a step back in recent weeks but it looks like he has started to figure out. He is averaging 21 PPG 11.5 RPG and 2.5 BPG in the last 2 games and is shooting it at over a 50% clip. He also has a great matchup vs a Thunder team that is allowing the 2nd most fantasy points to opposing big men this season. In 1 previous matchup, this season Collins scored 37.5 FPTS. I think that is something that we can expect the 2nd time around if he keeps up his run of good play.
Center
Montrezl Harrell ($6,400) vs Hornets- Harrell’s role has gotten bigger since the injury of Anthony Davis and he is playing like he deserves it recently. In the last 3 games, Harrell has put up 23 PPG and 5 RPG on an amazing 73.2% from the field. He will never put up big numbers on the glass but the way he is scoring is very impressive. The Hornets rank in the bottom half of the league on DK vs opposing centers, and with the Lakers needed all the scoring they can get, I would love to have Harrell in my lineup on Thursday night.
Sleeper Play
Moses Brown ($4,300) vs Hawks- There is a lot of risks here if Al Horford ends up playing in this game, but Moses Brown could be worth the risk. He was recently called up from the G-League and it looks like he belongs at the NBA level. In 4 games where he has received significant minutes, Brown is averaging 12.5 PPG 10.3 RPG, and 2.0 BPG while shooting 60% from the field. It is unclear what his role will be if Horford is in the lineup but at this price, I don’t think you can pass up his production. I would think about rostering him either way but would obviously feel much better if Horford wasn’t playing.
