Point Guard
Coby White ($6,700) vs Raptors- Despite being playing along with a ball-dominant guard, Coby White has quietly been having a pretty solid 2nd season in Chicago. His isn’t the most efficient but we have seen a change in that recently. White is averaging 19.8 PPG 4.6 APG 4.0 RPG and has shot the ball at 45% from the field and 46.2% from 3. The efficiency is much better recently compared to his season averages and against a Raptors team is in the midst of tanking, he should have another opportunity to get his shots up. In 5 of the last 6 games White has shot it over 16 times and with the shots paired with his ability on the glass & passing the ball, he should be a great option tonight.
Shooting Guard
Bogdan Bogdanovic ($7,500) vs Magic- Bogdan has quietly had a superb 2nd half of the season since returning from a major injury. Since Bogdan returned the Hawks started winning tons of games so it is no surprise his numbers look so good. In the last 5 games, Bogdan is putting up 22.8 PPG 3.6 APG, and is shooting it at 53.8% from the field and behind the arc. Bogdanovic’s three-pointer has been one of the best in the league in recent months and he gets it up in bunches. The Magic have had issues stopping pretty much everyone in their most recent games so I expect Bogdan to be a part of a big offensive game for Atlanta.
Small Forward
Jalen McDaniels ($5,100) vs Clippers- McDaniels continues to get a good amount of playing time with Miles Bridges out, and he is taking advantage. McDaniels is averaging 24.3 FPPG across the last 6 games and if it wasn’t for a dud 2 point performance those numbers could be even better. He has been playing over 25 minutes per game over the last stretch which is encouraging given his rebound and defensive counting stats. With so much playing time available I’m going to roster McDaniels again tonight vs the Clippers because he has come through thus far for us.
Power Forward
Jaren Jackson Jr. ($5,900) vs Kings- Jackson Jr. hasn’t completely gotten into a groove after missing most of the season due to injury but that doesn’t mean he can’t be a fantasy asset. Despite his struggles, he has still put up 16.0 PPG 4.8 RPG, and 1.3 BPG in the last 4 games and has shown some flashes of the previous form we have seen from the young big man. Jackson’s defensive numbers have been great in the last 2 games so if he can get his shot falling more frequently we should see a big fantasy game soon. I am betting that will be tonight vs the Kings who have had defensive issues all season long. At under $6,000 I think he is worth a long look.
Center
Clint Capela ($8,500) vs Magic- The pick-and-roll duo of Clint Capela and Trae Young has proved to be one of the best duos in the league. Capela has been a monster on the glass and on the defensive end this season for Atlanta. In the last 5 games, Capela is averaging 35 FPPG and in 1 game vs the Magic, he put up 14 PTS 19 REB and blocked 2 shots. The Magic have had issues defending the post in the past and I think they should have the upper hand in this one. Look for Capela to continue to stuff the stat sheet and do it efficiently.
Sleeper Play
Tyrese Maxey ($4,000) vs Heat- Tyrese Maxey has fallen in and out of the rotation this season but after a string of solid performances, it looks like he is back in Doc Rivers’ good graces. He has played 17+ minutes in each of the last 3 games and has yet to score under 23.5 FPTS in any of those contests. Another encouraging sign is that he has played 2 games vs the Heat this season and has found his way to score putting up 15.5 PPG. Maxey likely won’t play enough minutes to have a huge 30+ FPTS performance but at only $4,000 he can surely exceed value here.
