“Captain”
Russell Westbrook ($20,100) vs Pacers- With only 1 game on tonight’s slate we are going to play some showdown captain mode. Our captain will be Russell Westbrook at the steep price of $20,100. This price is scary but given what Westbrook has been doing, I think we have to have him in this spot. In the last 5 games, Westbrook is averaging 68 FPPG, including a 54 FPTS performance in the Wizards first play in-game. It’s no secret Russ fills up the stat sheet but with Beal out he will have to do even more, which should translate into another huge fantasy night.
Standard Play
Ish Smith ($5,200) vs Pacers- Ish Smith doesn’t have the most exciting game but he has been doing very well in a secondary role behind Russ and Bradley Beal. In 26 minutes Tuesday night, Smith finished with 17 PTS 8 REB, and 3 AST, which marked the 4th time in the last 5 games that Smith has scored in double digits. For a guard, he is extremely active on the glass and has proven to be a willing passer. Ish Smith won’t give you any three-pointers but he should have a good amount of scoring opportunities vs a Pacers team that has had its issues stopping opponents this season.
Standard Play
Daniel Gafford ($4,400) vs Pacers- Nobody can ever figure Scott Brooks center rotations but Gafford played 21 minutes on Tuesday night and was very effective. He finished with 12 PTS 5 REB and 2 BLKs and was very good in the pick and roll with Westbrook. Gafford has shown flashes throughout his Wizards tenure and after another good performance, I expect him to see 20+ minutes again. Gafford has scored 23.25+ FPTS in 3 of his last 4 games and in this one-game slate that would be great to see for a player at this price.
Standard Play
Oshae Brissett ($7,400) vs Wizards- Oshae Brissett continues to be one of the best success stories for the Pacers this season. He was great once again vs the Hornets on Tuesday night putting up 23 PTS and has hit at least 10 FGs in each of his last two games. His 3 point shot is falling, 8/14 in the last 2 games, and he has been getting plenty of shot attempts. Brissett has just been playing too well lately to pass up, especially with the injuries that the Pacers are dealing with at the moment. $7,400 is quite the jump from the $6,000 we saw him at in their last matchup, but well worth it.
Standard Play
Doug McDermott ($6,200) vs Wizards- Doug McDermott is a streaky player and he is in the middle of a great streak of play at the moment. In the last 6 games, McDermott has put up 18.3 PPG while shooting 57.5% from the field and 47.2% from the 3. McDermott won’t give you much other than scoring, but he is hard to pass up when he is scoring the ball this well. The Pacers will be without Caris LeVert again tonight, which should allow for more scoring opportunities for the sharpshooter. The upside is limited due to his style of play but at $6,200 he should be a valuable option in this matchup if his shot continues to fall.
Standard Play
Justin Holiday ($5,000) vs Wizards- In the grand scheme of things Justin Holiday is dirt cheap tonight at $5,000 in a 1 game slate. He has also been playing pretty well, 14 PPG 3.5 RPG 2.2 APG in the last 6 games while shooting over 50% from the field. This is good for 24.5 FPPG which is much greater than a lot of players priced in this range. Holiday put together a good 12 and 5 performance in the Pacers first play-in game and he should have plenty of open shots against a Wizards team that ranks 28th vs opposing SFs on DK this season.
