With only 1 game on the NBA slate we are only able to play “Showdown Captain Mode” where you select one player who cost 1.5x their regular salary but they get you 1.5x the FPTS.
Khris Middleton ($14,100) vs Raptors– Khris Middleton finally had his breakout game in this series scoring 30 PTS with 6 REB and 7 AST for 50 FPTS on the night. The Raptors have seemed to find a way to somewhat slow down Giannis and the beneficiary for that I believe is Khris Middleton. He will get lots of open looks and continue to fire up those 3s in transition that he seems to love. While Middleton does see a double sometimes in the post he has shown the ability to find the open man and be a playmaker with his 7 assists and consistent control of the ball. Look for Khris to get his shots up and have another very good night for the Bucks as they return home.
Malcolm Brogdon ($7,000) vs Raptors– Brogdon had his first dud game in game 4 by only putting up 4 PTS 5 REB and 3 AST while going 2/11 from the field. However, they will be returning home for game 5 and he has shot the ball better at home, especially from deep, posting a 46.5% 3 PT as opposed to the 38.3% away from home this season. Despite the rough last outing I’m not going to run away from Brogdon even if his price is still $7,000. He has shown us the ability to put up very nice numbers in the 6th man role for Milwaukee in these playoffs and I think the Bucks will take care of business at home and to do that Brogdon will have to play like he has in the first 3 games of this series.
Norman Powell ($4,400) vs Bucks– Norman Powell has really surprised a lot of people with his play off the bench for the Raptors. What has really surprised me is the volume of shots he is taking, especially in the last 2 games. He took 13 shots in game 3 and in game 4 he took a whopping 18 shots. You aren’t going to get that from any player in this price range and if they continue to double Kawhi the Bucks have shown they are going to let Powell get up as many 3 pointers as they want and I think some have to fall. Coming off of a game where he shot 13 three pointers I think Powell has one of the highest ceilings of players anyone below the top tier guys.
Marc Gasol ($6,600) vs Bucks– Since almost getting taken out of the starting lineup Marc Gasol has looked like the Gasol we know averaging 16.5 PPG 8.5 RPG 7 APG and a surprising 3.5 BPG. He has also shot it at a 50% clip from 3 point distance which is a shot that the Bucks are allowing him to take especially off the pick and roll with Kawhi and Lowry. Gasol has always been able to score and after getting a couple good performances under his belt I don’t think he will slow down anytime soon. A welcoming sign was in the last game where both Ibaka and Gasol could thrive in the big man spot. While he doesn’t have as big as an impact or run the offense like him Marc Gasol has filled the stat sheet in a way we saw Draymond Green do for the Warriors in their series vs the Blazers. I don’t expect a Draymond level performance but Gasol has a very high floor with all that he has been doing in the last two games.
