NBA DraftKings DFS Lineup Picks 6/1/21

Point Guard
James Harden ($10,600) vs Celtics- James Harden wasn’t going crazy in the 1st two games of this series but in the last 2, he has been electric. In those 2 games, he is averaging over 65 FPTS and he finished the last game with 18 assists. The Nets offense is one of the best offenses we have ever seen and Harden is the reason it all clicks. The big 3 is finally healthy and has proven to be too much for Boston to handle. If Harden stayed healthy he would be an MVP candidate and he is playing like it right now. That is why I am fully confident rostering him at this $10,700 price point.
Shooting Guard
Joe Harris ($5,100) vs Celtics- He may not have the name recognition of the big 3 in Brooklyn, but Joe Harris is one of the key beneficiaries of their impressive play. Harris is the best 3 point shooter in the league and he has showcased that in this series. In the first 4 games vs the Celtics, he is averaging 14.3 PPG and has shot 53.6% from the 3 point line. He doesn’t do much other than score but he is still averaging 24.1 FPPG in the last 4 and I would gladly have him on my roster at this price. Look for Harris to continue to do what he does in this close-out game for Brooklyn.
Small Forward
Norman Powell ($5,600) vs Nuggets- The Blazers acquired Norman Powell at the trade deadline for this exact reason. When either McCollum or Lillard don’t have it going they now have a 3rd scoring option who can keep them in games. In this series, Powell is averaging 18.0 PPG on 55.1% shooting from the field. Powell has been huge for the Blazers in the last two games scoring no less than 32 FPTS and coming up with big shots and defense when they need it the most. I know Powell doesn’t do a lot with other counting stats, but he seems underpriced here especially with the defensive numbers he has been able to put up in this series. He may have a high ownership % tonight but I would still have him in my lineup.
Power Forward
Robert Covington ($4,800) vs Nuggets- Robert Covington hasn’t averaged double-digits in any category in this series but he does enough of everything to make him worth a look tonight on DK. He is averaging 28 FPPG in the last 2 games and the big reason has been his 10 RPG in those games. He has also played huge minutes, 39 & 36 in those games. With Enes Kanter out of the rotation in the last 2 games, Covington has played a little backup center which is where he has thrived for fantasy owners. I would continue to roster Covington, especially at this price, if Kanter is out of the rotation.
Center
Deandre Ayton ($7,400) vs Lakers– Deandre Ayton has been feasting in the Suns 1st round series vs the Lakers and has shown people why he was a top pick. Ayton comes into this game averaging 19.8 PPG 13.5 RPG on 80.9% FG in the first four games of this series. Things could get easier for Ayton with Anthony Davis banged up and unlikely to play in this game. Ayton is a double-double machine and with CP3 looking better that will only open up things even more for the young center. As long as Chris Paul is the point guard Ayton will have open looks and we know we can trust him for a bulk of the Suns rebounds when he is on the floor. In my opinion, Ayton is still underpriced in this spot.
Sleeper Play
Marc Gasol ($3,600) vs Suns- Even if Anthony Davis does play, I think we could see a lot more of Marc Gasol. Gasol offers a lot on both sides of the court for the Lakers but he significantly helps the Lakers offense. He can stretch the floor and has shown great passing ability for a center. In game 4 he put up 12 PTS 8 REB 3 AST 3 BLK and 1 STL in 23 minutes, which was his highest minutes total of the series. Gasol may have earned himself some more minutes and at this price, I think it is worth the shot betting that he will be on the floor and productive in this one.
