Point Guard
Lou Williams ($5,800) vs Thunder– If you were to not play DK today I wouldn’t blame you. There are a lot of meaningless games where we will see reserves vs reserves and starters earn fractions of the minutes that they usually do. While I think we will see very limited minutes, if any at all, from Paul George and Kawhi Leonard a player who could still play his regular share is 6th man of the year candidate Lou Williams. Williams has gotten into a groove as of late scoring over 32 FPTS in each of the Clippers last 2 games. The Thunder are down Lu Dort, who is arguably their best perimeter defender, so even with possible limited minutes Lou will get his.
Shooting Guard
Kendrick Nunn ($5,200) vs Pacers– Nunn is a usually starter for Miami but he has been out of the bubble dealing with a personal issue so the Heat will likely give him a decent amount of time to get him in a groove before the playoffs get underway. Nunn was very solid in the regular season averaging 15.2 PPG so I would expect him to get his shots up early and often. I wouldn’t be surprised if Nunn was able to get 25+ FPTS games, which would be good in what is expected to be a low scoring night.
Small Forward
Robert Covington ($7,100) vs 76ers– Robert Covington’s jump shot has been a bit shaky but he is so active on the glass with the small-ball Rockets he still has value in my opinion. He is averaging 8.6 PPG and 8.6 RPG in the last 5 games and he does so much that is still good for over 30 FPPG. I have faith he will get his shot going and if Joel Embiid misses this game he should have more opportunities for rebounds on the offensive and defensive end.
Power Forward
Darius Bazley ($5,400) vs Clippers– One of the biggest developments for the Thunder in the last 3 games has been the emergence of rookie Darius Bazley. He has scored 20 PTS and shot 12/20 from beyond the 3 point line. In those 3 games he has scored an average of 42.16 FPTS which is a high for the team. With the uncertainty with all the lineups across today’s slate of games I have no issues riding the hot hand of Bazley here at this price point. If he continues to play heavy minutes he could also be a double-double threat which would help him exceed his value at this price point.
Center
Chris Boucher ($5,300) vs Nuggets– A player who is not in the usual rotation but always seems to show up and play well when given the minutes is Raptors PF/C Chris Boucher. In the last two games Boucher has shot 16/27 from the field and is averaging over 20 PPG and 10 RPG. He will likely see another decent dose of minutes with the Raptors preparing for the playoffs which is good news for fantasy owners. He has proven he can score at every level and this is a game vs the Nuggets where he can put up some good numbers again and maybe get in the regular otation in the future.
Sleeper Play
Abdel Nader ($3,900) vs Clippers– Another player I am taking a shot on receiving heavier minutes is Thunder F Abdel Nader. Nader has scored double-digit points in the last two games for OKC and has shot the ball at over a 50% clip in each of his last 3 games. The Thunder will be resting some of their key players which could even see Nader get near 30 minutes in this one. If he does that and continues shooting the way he has been he will be a great value play for someone that is in this sub $4,000 range.
