NBA Finals Odds Update: Phoenix Suns First Team to Make the Conference Finals

The Phoenix Suns became the first of four NBA teams to make it to the Conference Finals, with the three other Conference Semi-Finals series tied 2-2 following Monday’s games. All U.S. sportsbooks have been updating their NBA Finals odds daily throughout the playoffs, and the odds have changed following the Suns clinching a spot in the next round. Phoenix entered the postseason as +2500 longshots to win the NBA title per PointsBet, but are now listed at +400 on PointsBet, +390 on FanDuel, and +400 on DraftKings, making them one of the favorites to win the championship.

Brooklyn Nets – Milwaukee Bucks Update

Of the remaining teams in the NBA playoffs, the Brooklyn Nets had the best Finals odds entering the postseason. The Nets were +225 on PointsBet entering the playoffs and are now +275 following Kyrie Irving’s ankle sprain. FanDuel Sportsbook has the Nets at +350 to win the title, and DraftKings Sportsbook has the Nets at +340 to win the title. Steve Nash said that he has “no idea what’s going to happen with Ky in the coming days.” James Harden has been out for the Nets since Game 1 of the series, so now the team is missing two of its three All-Star players. After winning the first two games of the series, the Nets dropped two games on the road to the Bucks. Milwaukee is now favored to win this series at -184 on FanDuel and -186 on DraftKings; the Bucks are +370 to win the NBA Championship on FanDuel and +330 on DraftKings – they are the favorite in each book. The Bucks entered the NBA playoffs with +800 odds to win the title per PointsBet, so the Irving and Harden injuries have shifted their outlook considerably.

Utah Jazz – Los Angeles Clippers Update

For the second time this postseason, the Clippers found themselves in a 2-0 hole after losing the first two games of Utah. The Jazz, however, failed to take advantage of the 2-0 lead as they went on to lose two games in Los Angeles by convincing fashion. Mike Conley’s ongoing hamstring strain has kept him off the floor for all four games, and Donovan Mitchell is not quite at 100% as he continues to deal with issues related to his previous ankle injury. Meanwhile, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George have stepped up convincingly as both players scored 30+ points in each of the two games in Los Angeles. The Jazz are still slight favorites to win the series at -137 on DraftKings Sportsbook. Utah is currently the third-favored team to win the title at +380 on FanDuel, +425 on DraftKings, and +350 on PointsBet; they entered the playoffs at +700 to win the title per PointsBet. Los Angeles, meanwhile, is +550 to win the title on FanDuel, +600 on DraftKings, and +700 on PointsBet after entering the postseason at +550 per PointsBet.

Philadelphia 76ers – Atlanta Hawks Update

Trae Young had a poor shooting performance in Game 4 of the 76ers-Hawks series, but he still scored 25 points and dished out 18 assists – that’s the most assists by a 25+ point scorer in a playoff game since 1991. Young’s effort led the Hawks to even up the series against the Sixers. Philadelphia’s Danny Green will miss the rest of this series, at least with a calf strain, while Joel Embiid’s knee issues continue to hamper his ability to take over games as he shot just 4 of 20 from the field in Game 4. The Sixers and Hawks are seen as having the longest odds for the Finals on most books. The 76ers are still -310 favorites to win the series. After entering the postseason at +750 to win the title per PointsBet, the Sixers are now +700 on both FanDuel and DraftKings. Atlanta, meanwhile, entered the postseason as wild +10000 longshots to win the title, and they’re now listed at +6500 on FanDuel and +6600 on DraftKings. With Atlanta’s inexperience and relative lack of talent, along with Philadelphia’s injury issues, it seems unlikely that the NBA Champion will come out of this series.
