NBA Best Bets For Friday, Nov. 29
Check out three bets below — two player props and one spread.
Brandon Clarke 10+ Points (+115 FanDuel)
Since rookie Zach Edey hurt his ankle five games ago, Brandon Clarke’s workload has increased to 21.7 minutes per game. The veteran is averaging 10.4 points and seven field goal attempts per game so far in this expanded role.
Clarke meets a makeshift Pelicans defense that’s allowing the second-most rim attempts and third-largest rim field goal percentage in the NBA. To be more granular, opponents are absolutely feasting on put-backs, cuts, and transition opportunities. These areas define Clarke’s game, so he is set up for a quality scoring night.
Overall, Clarke has reached double digits in 4-of-5 games since Edey’s injury, and opposing centers produce the sixth-most points per game against New Orleans compared to the rest of the NBA.
Isaiah Hartenstein Double-Double (+110 DraftKings)
The Thunder’s prized offseason acquisition broke his hand during preseason action and recently made his debut on November 20th. Through three games, Isaiah Hartenstein has contributed 15.3 points and 12.7 rebounds per game, including a double-double in every contest.
Oklahoma City desperately needs his interior presence because centers Chet Holmgren and Jaylin Williams remain out. As a result, Hartenstein is currently vacuuming rebounds without much competition from teammates.
He faces a Lakers squad that’s giving up the fifth-largest offensive rebound rate and third-most rebounds per game to centers. Hartenstein is elite at crashing the glass, so he should be licking his chops.
I-Hart has also thrived as a short roller in the Thunder’s system, and he’s getting plenty of open looks with defenders concerned about stopping Shai Gilgeous-Alexander or Jalen Williams. Whether it’s push-shots, cuts, rolls, or put-backs, look for Hartenstein to make a scoring impact here despite Anthony Davis’ presence.
Boston Celtics -10 (-118 DraftKings)
It’s going to be a tough night for the Bulls.
Their defense surrenders the seventh-most wide open triples per game in the NBA, and the Celtics’ offense is easily on pace to break the three-point attempt rate record. Boston owns elite shooters at every position, including their bench, and they possess enough ball-handlers to hunt mismatches at will. Nikola Vucevic playing drop coverage will especially be a vulnerable strategy.
Meanwhile, the Bulls also give up the most rim attempts per game across the association, so Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum can balance the offense by attacking the basket.I expect Boston to cruise on offense.
On the other end, they can switch everything, throw length at Vucevic, and sag off of Josh Giddey to further protect the paint. The Bulls may get hot from deep, but it’s unlikely against this disciplined, stifling defense.
Finally, the fact that it’s an NBA Cup game means the Celtics will be incentivized to run up the score because point differential potentially matters.
