Giannis Antetokounmpo Nov. 12 Player Prop Bets (MIL vs. TOR)
Over 32.5 points
- The two-time MVP called out his teammates after Sunday’s loss to Boston, and we could see him follow up on his words with action in the NBA Cup opener against a weak Toronto defense. Damian Lillard (concussion) is out, and Giannis saw a 37.5% usage rate in games without Lillard last season. His usage rate has been even higher with Lillard in the lineup this season, as the Bucks’ supporting cast has been very ineffective on offense. Giannis is averaging nine free-throw attempts and 24 field goal attempts over his last three outings, and Toronto is allowing the most free-throw attempts per game along with the fifth-most points in the paint this season. With Scottie Barnes and Bruce Brown out, Toronto has few options to deploy on Giannis. Yet we don’t trust the Milwaukee defense right now, so consider a reverse correlation parlay for Giannis to reach 30 points and 10 rebounds, and the Raptors (+8) to cover a large spread.
Julius Randle Nov. 12 Player Prop Bets (MIN @ POR)
Under 34.5 points + rebounds + assists
- The Blazers have been blown out in three consecutive games and were called out by head coach Chauncey Billups after their latest anemic effort against Memphis. Either Portland bounces back with a spirited effort in the NBA Cup at home, or it folds in another blowout against a physical Wolves team, which would limit the minutes of starters on both sides. Randle posted 22 points, six rebounds, and four assists over 32 minutes in a comfortable win over Portland last Friday, and his averages have settled in at 19 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.8 assists over his last five outings with Minnesota. Portland is allowing the fifth-fewest points in the paint, and rim-protecting centers Robert Williams and Donovan Clingan are both candidates to steal time from Deandre Ayton given Billups’s comments about effort.
Cade Cunningham Nov. 12 Player Prop Bets (DET vs. MIA)
Over 6.5 rebounds
- Cunningham has been a beast on the boards this season, and his output has taken off with Jalen Duren (ankle) out recently. Duren is questionable to play against Miami tonight, and Jimmy Butler is out for the Heat, removing an element of physicality from their defense. Cunningham went for 24 points, eight rebounds, and six assists in his season debut against Miami, and the Heat are allowing the fifth-most rebounds per game (6.82) to point guards this season. Cunningham is averaging 10 rebounds on 17.5 rebound chances per game over his last four outings. He’s also been filling up the stat sheet with 10.8 assists per game over his last four outings, but Miami’s rough shooting offense (dead last in two-point field goal percentage) generally leads to a bevy of rebounding opportunities.
Immanuel Quickley Nov. 12 Player Prop Bets (TOR @ MIL)
Over 17.5 points / over 2.5 3-pointers
- Quickley only logged 26.5 minutes per game while playing on both legs of a back-to-back set in Los Angeles, and he still got to 33 total points with one hot shooting performance against a tough Clippers defense and a cold performance the next night against the Lakers. Now he’ll face a Bucks team that is coughing up the third-most points per game (28.24) to point guards and the second-most made 3-pointers per game (15.3) on the season. The Bucks don’t have defensive stopper Patrick Beverley to slot into Lillard’s spot in the starting lineup, so Quickley should have an easy matchup against A.J. Green or another slower defender.
