Jalen Johnson Nov. 9 Player Prop Bets (ATL vs. CHI)

Over 14.5 rebounds + assists

  • While Johnson posted modest totals over three games (only two starts) against the Bulls last season, Chicago has completely changed its playing style this year with the second-fastest pace in the NBA, which has allowed opponents to grab 55.2 rebounds per game against Chicago. The Bulls offense has sputtered with Zach LaVine (thigh) inactive or hobbled during a four-game losing streak, and they’ve allowed huge stat lines to forwards in that span. After a slow start, Johnson is averaging 21.4 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 6.4 assists over his last five games. He’s averaged 5.7 assists over six home games and 17 rebounds and assists combined in two games on zero days rest this season. He should accumulate stats in a matchup featuring top five teams in terms of pace.

James Harden Nov. 9 Player Prop Bets (LAC vs. TOR)

Under 33.5 points + assists

  • The 35-year-old played 35 minutes last night and still fell short of this prop despite scoring 22 points on 16 field goal attempts. Harden is shooting 37% from the field while averaging 6.3 assists and 4.3 turnovers over his last four games. While the Raptors defense has struggled this season, they could get Immanuel Quickley back tonight and Davion Mitchell is a ball-hawking guard to deploy on Harden. Toronto has above-average rim protection with Jakob Poeltl on the back line and Harden struggled in recent matchups against teams that can protect the paint. Toronto also yields the most free-throw attempts per game, leading to the fewest assists per game (6.63) for point guards facing the Raptors.

Chris Paul Nov. 9 Player Prop Bets (SAS vs. UTA)

Over 7.5 assists

  • Utah has been the worst team in the Western Conference by a wide margin early in the season and the Jazz defense particularly struggles at the point of attack, allowing the highest assist to turnover ratio (2.70) to opposing offenses. Paul went for 19 points and 10 assists against this defense when the Spurs were on the second leg of a back-to-back last week and now he faces a poor defense on normal rest. Prior to a blowout loss at Houston and a relatively easy win at Portland Thursday, Paul was averaging 9 assists over his previous five games. With Devin Vassell (foot) set to make his season debut, his assists could be easier to come by for Paul, who leads the Spurs with 15.5 potential assists per game.

Dennis Schroder Nov. 9 Player Prop Bets (BKN @ CLE)

Over 16.5 points

  • Brooklyn is coming off an overtime loss in Boston and Cleveland is coming off a blowout win over the Warriors last night. The Nets (+13) are huge underdogs once again given those circumstances, but you can’t count them out given how they’ve rallied this season around Schroder, who is tough as nails and fit enough to thrive on zero days rest. Schroder’s career numbers and offensive rating are consistent regardless of the rest situation, and he’s been awesome for the Nets this year with averages of 19.9 points and 6.8 assists per game with a career-high 118 offensive rating. Cleveland has been elite defensively, but actually gives up the most points per game (29.86) to opposing point guards this season. Schroder averaged 14.7 points on just 9.7 field goal attempts per game over three meetings with Cleveland last season. This season, his usage rate is much higher and it’s up to 25.6% in road games.
